forgive me if i am mistaken, but isn't the advantage of OLED the fact that each diode emits its OWN light thereby eliminating a need for a backlight. The sun would not be used as a backlight for an OLED display, but instead would washout the light being emitted from the display itself. OLEDs emitting their own light (which in general is very bright) allows for displays to be made much thinner (due to not needing a light source for backlighting) and uses less energy (again due to not having to have a backlight source).

@moogoo you sir are not mistaken and are completely correct, however it may have been my english that confused you.
the line you quoted was a comparison b.w TFT and OLED. specifically saying that OLED has neither a BackLight or Reflective Layering (TFT).
following the argument of the whole post hinging on battery life the comparison falls apart if OLED has these "disadvantages" found in TFT LCD technology. |

@my ninja..
i understand now.
The issue remains that in sunlight OLED will get washed out and be difficult to see. Even while holding your hand over it, i'm sure it's difficult to see. and if you're trying to text on a qwerty at the same time, it could prove to be very difficult.
But, on the other hand, I am in favor of longer battery life vs. complete and crisp visibility in sunlight.
8 more days! i hope there's good news. i need something to look forward to.

8mp is not enough
Better start with a new G-series symbian smartphone imo.

I hope we could see more things that are greatly innovative and qualitative - not just the same lame gimmicks they have been rolling out ever since the start of their struggle, especially that SE really struggles for its survival needing 100M euros to stay still. we really need something more thats kick-ass.
