A Satio with Xperia T specs and Jellybean - isn't that the perfect smartphone a Sony fan could ever wish for?

Satio was a beautiful and classy phone complemented by excellent specs but tarnished by poor optimization of the software.
I'd love that design with the S4 quad-core processor from Sony.

Somebody will come and say, no it has to be a quad-core
BTW, from technical point, it's very hard, Xenon flash require a capacitor and in Satio it's a big one
Take a look at it ( the big Silver cylinder in the right part thing )

So adding a Xenon flash to a thin phone isn't something easy, and might be not possible if you're limited in volume area..

Maybe they need to use a very flat shaped capacitor. What is the thinnest phone with a Xenon flash? I seem to remember a Samsung having a thin phone. The C901 was around 13mm.

No question, Satio was one of the greatest! I love that design!
Why no Satio II in slimmer body with GX/Mint specs and xenon flash? It would be a grenade!
A design like the Satio touches more people than just "standard" looking Mint/GX... Satio looks like a real cam and is soo damn sexy too.
I don't understand, why SONY don't revived old beautiful designs. They go always new design, but they don't need in my opinion if I compare to other manufactors.

who cares if Satio is more than 10mm thin, I really don't understand the hype with slim phones, they typically have worse ergonomics than "fat" ones. not to mention slim phones are at risk of slipping inside a jean's pocket. and ultmately it hinders integration of "necessary" hardware such as Xenon flash. and to tell everyone here, Satio isn't thick imho. say that with an N90 in front of you, now that's what I'd call thick

Exactly what is wrong with that? I have made a conscious decision not to buy a dual-core phone anymore- did get the Droid Razr then sold it- because I am looking into the future. I feel quad-core is future-proof for the moment.
If you are happy with dual-core then good for you, just don't prescribe to anyone else what they should prefer.

^^ I'd say dual core with a very powerful GPUs are the future applications are now starting to harness the superior computing muscle of GPU shaders, in desktops an Intel i7 CPU (without expansion graphics card) can be easily outmatched by a tenfold cheaper AMD A10 APU in gaming and GPGPU, as we all know, GPGPU is the future of computing
GPUs is better than CPU on the following
transcode videos
render textures
calculating in-game physics
audio decoding
encryption and compression
video processing and enhancement
games would suck without GPUs
take a look at this:
http://news.softpedia.com/new[....]ficial-Benchmarks-285487.shtml
now why go for quad core and waste battery when a manufacturer can instead focus on improving GPU performance with that power consumption allocation supposedly to be occupied by the 2 extra cores?

@razec
While I agree with to an extent, I also think you forget that as we move along quad-core processors will eventually consume battery much more efficiently.
Not too long ago people lamented the poor battery standby times on dual-core processors but not anymore.
The same argument you are using regarding dual-cores and GPU also applies on quad-cores when they are being improved.

Yes. A dual core with a latest GPU is better than a quad core
While on that subject, take a look at this too...

I was going through some of SE's older models yesterday (some of you may know why ) and I started wondering why they aren't as inventive with their designs any more, having in mind what Mint and Hayabusa look like. I mean, just have a look at some of the feature phones:

Notice the use of aluminium, sturdy/matte plastic and a variety of elements and accents. I think they might be taking minimalism too far and treading into Samsungy blandness.

^Here's a more extensive view of phones from Sony Ericsson to Sony Mobile (from GSMArena.com):
Judge for yourselves.
And I'm sorry for the heavy pictures.
