i have videos from my p900 with mpeg4 format they dont work with my 6680 converted them to 3gp but the sound to slow.....

@prom1 ya i understand what ur going through, posting through opera isn't that bad- i had a k700i and everyone around me had 7610's etc but i didn't feel anything as i was so much in love with my phone. Same thing with my computer- mine is a p4 1.5ghz with 512mb ram and a geforce 6200 256mb graphics card etc- not at all new but i love it and have tweaked it to the max. I think you should hold out but if you can't the 6680 is still the flagship phone. . When will you post your picture? What do you do for a living?
@mall hey i know even i've tried. With nokia 6680 you have to sacrifice mp4 but enjoy real media. . . .
still a good deal right? Why don't you post good pictures taken with your phone?

Well I since I dropped outta college, about 7 years ago - my son was about to be born and having no money and OSAP (tuition + living expenses) debt mounting I decided to work. kinda bad decision, but good as what I was studying Chartered Accountancy had some ramifications that changed the industry profoundly; 3rd year would've been a waste. I currently do tech support for AOL High-Speed for USA clients. Pretty Pathetic. I did tech support for Tmobile USA prior & Accts Payable/Recievable positions - which I'm very good at. This AOL position has put life back into focus though. At first I wasnt sure where my destiny lies, I still dont; nothings clicked yet. But I do want to go back to school for Accounting; this time its part-time for University Diploma/Degree for C.A. I'm also considering Audio Engineering (music) or Electrical Engineering.
Not posting a photo of me, as for some reason camera's dont like my face, lol. Seriously, being black, camera's dont take good contrast photos: too low and I look like a smear, too bright and I look like america's most wanted & road kill about to happen. The right balance I havent seen in any of my photos so I shun them. Guess thats why I barely take photos. |

Opera v8 update.
Damn I'm so close! I did *#7370# & *#7780# complete formats and then installed Opera v8 and voila it booted. Didnt even say NOTHING about trialing for 14days. I thought I had it made. Then I restored my backup from my PC Suite v6.6 and then tried to launch. Boom same as before it closes before complete launch. I took a look at so many files and found nothing critical as to why it did work as a factory fresh state phone.
The file was the original downloaded from Opera's site:
opera_s60_800_AMERICAS_70s_20
So close yet no cigar. I gotta get this to work as I'm leaving home for a full 3 weeks. So its mobile only from here on out. |

i downloaded mine from the uk server so just try that file- i know it doesn't make any diff but its worth a try

Can you take a quick look at a particular file using FExplorer or ProfiExplorer please. Anyone with Opera v8.
If its installed on memory card.
First set the file browser to show hidden files. Be VERY careful not to hit the Clear key for anything or be on a bumpy road on the bus. lol.
goto E:\System\Data\Opera\Opera.ini
double check that its opera.ini or if different pls post what its called on ur phone.
Now within this file it should read ::
[User Prefs]
Special effects=0
[EPOC]
EULAAccepted=1
SsrMode=2
[State]
Run=0
This, state field I think is causing me the issue.
Can anyone please help?

Nice photo celltech. keep em coming.
Dr.; goto photobucket.com, and register an account, its free - on your pc internet connection. then upload pictures there into your account and you'll get a tag, url, and IMG tag to inbedd in forums. They'll be resized to fit but will still be good. here is an example of the usuage of the IMG tag.

@mason357, welcome to the world of Series60 Symbian. Cant say that I've got many more tips than whats on the first 2 pages of this thread, but you can have SMS/MMS msg received directly to your MMC memory card. This saves phone memory for other apps that are critical to you. But for the most part get a good sized MMC card (512MB) will do immensely fine for storing your apps.
Holding down the Menu key for a few seconds will bring up a task switcher (kinda like Alt-Tab in windows) for you to switch to other running apps. When your in an app and you want to quickly minimize the app then you press the red hangup (end call) key. The app is still running just minimized.
Tip; dont leave bluetooth running at all times. It drains your battery in the long run, and you dont want someone sending you a currupted file. Most likely, if you have the latest firmare then you dont have to worry as your phone will ask you to accept or deny the incoming file transfer.

used the code to check software ver on 6600 and it read 4.09.02, is there anyway to upgrade software without having to send phone back to Nokia?
