US market is most likely shifting to professional mobile devices only which hopefully means more pro models will be announced in near future. This comes as no surprise as US market was a test bed for dedicated professional Xperia phones PRO and PRO-I. And now FP1 is listed on US Xperia page so something must be up. |

The biggest point of failure for failure of xperia line is the stubbornness of other sony divisions specially walkman and cybershot. They should have converged these lines long time ago to make awesome phones but those divisions deliberately stopped that from happening to stay independent now they are losing out on sales for phones from other manufacturers cause people will always have high expectations when buying a sony given their extensive product portfolio and they will be left wanting a bit more |

📷 business has been steady. Phones cannot replace Pro gear. Imagine shooting NBA game with phone, only xperia uses AF for burst mode. Indoor situation when phones need to drop shutter to 1/15s. Huge motion blur.
Shooting wildlife, sports, weddings etc ...
Phones cannot compete. Sony sponsors photography competition every year. Zero chance you win with phone against 📷. |

in the video the zoom range stops at 138mm, but I have the impression that it is "truncated" deliberately so as not to reveal the real focal length. |
