On the subject of bezels, it seems like every flagship will have minimal bezels all the way round the device. Regardless of whether people like curved screens or whatever, the Sony flagship has to have an eye-catching design. I think the XZ footprint could easily be reduced and waterproofing is no excuse because everyone has achieved compact devices with this feature. For me a phone has to have some bezel for comfort but not so much top and bottom. A part of me says that the XZ2 will be very similar to the XZ and that the XZ Premium will have the same look. I don't see why there needs to be another X or X Performance because both flopped, just have XZ, Compact, Premium and Ultra. Keep the XA and XA Ultra but either make them cheaper or bump their specs up, if these were waterproof and had a midrange SD procesor then I'd take them over the flagship for sure. |

Top bezel has nothing to do with water proofing .it,s for the camera sensor.but overall the design isn't very popular.(not my opinion,I love it) |

Well all phones can do most things as well as each other and share most of their internals so how else can you differentiate? Design suddenly becomes very important. The Galaxy S8 and G6 look like they'll have a weird aspect ratio screen so I wonder if apps will be shrunk to fit or whether videos will have big black borders etc. As nice at they may look the functionality needs to be considered but not at the cost of aesthetics. XZ does look nice but curved screens and no bezel make phones look modern or futuristic. The XZ volume rocker needs to move back to the top as well, that really bugs me. Its time for a bold change, perhaps we need another Arc design. |

As a side note, as far as I know the lack of availability of SnapDragon 835 is more than likely because Samsung have basically locked down all of the available stock in the first half of 2017. |

The leaks of the S8 with curved screen and absolute minimal top and bottom bezels look amazing, especially the picture with the screen on (gsmarena). It's a flagship device that has everything that you expect in a flagship all crammed into that body. There is no point in Sony slightly tweaking last year's designs because it will get left behind, there is no need for those top and bottom bezels to be that gigantic. I fully expect the S8 to break all previous Samsung sales records. Come on Sony, lets see what you can do. |

The design of the S8 does look great but it has one big flaw, that ridiculously fragile curved screen. The amount of friends that have smashed the display on their S6/S7 Edge is way more than iPhones or other Android devices and the fact that the display is larger than ever the weak point of the screen is now even worse. I'd hate to be the person who needs a replacement screen for an S8+, got to be pushing on £450 which is pretty much the cost of a new S7!!

^ While videos on the Sony phones have very good stabilization, white balance and other, video is not sharp when compared to the Samsung whose videos are razor sharp, and I don't know why? |

Can anyone make out the text on the slide or post a link to the original source?

dual-camera setup can solve sony picture quality problem, especially for nights , one 8mp monochrome sensor with ois will really help a lot i believe. |

This refers to the new image sensors that Sony have specifically developed for the mobile market.
It is the image sensor with ram directly embedded to the image sensor making the phone capable of capturing higher fps than previous image sensors. |

Sensor was just announced back in February, I would be shocked if it appeared in a device at MWC.
Not sure about the name, Motion Eye reminds me of the old Sony Vaio webcams. |
