I guess one big question to ask is, are there going to be any LTE products form SE this year? I don't see a Z1010 style early model but at least a PC card/USB modem? Heck the first network is up in Sweden and Norway.
I don't want a signature anymore. |

With all the talk of Symbian, Android, and WM are we still going to see any higher end "feature phones"? I would love to see an update to the A2 platform.

Maybe are giving Symbian a facelift like Nokia? In fairness, Symbian has improved a lot and I can see it becoming stronger. I have seen Nokia making their version a lot more Nokia-ish which gives it more of an identity, I'm sure others will follow. Android is getting its various updates but I don't see anything exciting, it down to the manufacturers to modify. MWC is not far off so everything will soon be cleared up. The January Apple announcement is also important because these companies have a rough idea of what will come and have prepared accordingly i.e. HTC having developed a tablet PC (has been put on ice for the moment). If the next iPhone is revealed, you should see some sort of reaction at MWC. I think Apple will make it a proper smart phone and bring it a lot closer to being a top device for the business user. I am eager to see the laptop/netbook thing.
WM 7 is probably the biggest mover. Its a totally new platform in the sense that its nothing like 6.5, the IT guys could probably give a more elaborate explanation. Its more Zune HD like (which runs on Tegra) and definitely more media centric therefore, moving towards being a much improved phone. A lot is owed to the iPhone OS of course but Microsoft would never admit that. We could see it later in the year and maybe not as soon as I originally thought. It does require power so around 1Ghz and above which is good news for those waiting for the X2 successor. I think that WM 7 will be awesome and with that will be some great high end devices.
One thing I have been thinking of is the potential loss of handwriting recognition because of capacitive screens. I have quickly become tired of the X1 qwerty and miss the quick UIQ and Symbian writing action, I use block recogniser a lot now. I would definitely miss this feature on my next business phone. A stylus would work on capacitive screens but will there be support?
As for feature phones, I think the Entertainment Unlimited phones will take over. Walkmans and Cybershots since the W995 have been mid and low end only. I would have liked Kurara as a Walkman with play/pause buttons etc. and generally, I miss the distinct flavours of the high end Walkmans and Cybershots. |

So depending on what Apple announce we should see a reaction at MWC? That sounds good. I would like to see what feature phones they are developing.
@tranced
Howdy reminds me of a cowboy on a horse. I'm trying to think why this would relate to a SE mobile or codename although I'm probably on the wrong track.
May be we are going to see Symbian with a new skin and UI on it.
