instead of having "unlimited" space, is there a way to just expand the limit to say 500 sms??

I think what is done is to put a limited sized folder and copy to a "free memory limit" folder which is available too. Personally I havenīt found yet a file where we can do a personal limit.

that MIGHT be the case... BUT these were posted earlier in this thread:

What are the default folders contained inside the /tpa folder?

I managed to change the pref_store.txt from "/smsdata" to "/tpa". when i restarted the phone, all messages are gone. I want to recover my messages so I copied messaging and system folder under /smsdata folder to /tpa folder. I got all the messages back but then the sms limit is back as well. did I mess up my phone? help!

@arnarn911: If this is so there must be a file in the original SMSDATA location that sets the limit. If so maybe all we need do is find out which one sets the limit and modify it to say 1000. i.e. I believe that once the number of messages exceeds 1000 there is a performance drop.

Why is it important? Aside from the performance drop and stability, its because of this:

I noticed something about updating our SMS to unlimited one. When using MY PHONE EXPLORER, sms can be read but CANT BE DISPLAYED. Inbox, Sent items, drafts are ALL empty.

Anyone has the same problem?

Obviously the mod will make archiving in MPE no longer possible..

Copy file farfield_play.apf to any folder of PC, rename it to farfield_ring.apf and copy back. So file farfield_ring.apf in phone is replaced by file with settings of farfield_play.apf. Now we have 2 same files but different names.
Thanks to jaba from mobile-review.com

I am just wondering, does this hack make the ringtone sound exactly the same quality as playing it through media player?

Help me!!!
I just updated my cam driver to enhance jpeg quality to 95%, but whenever i take a picture with a lot of detail (trees, foliage, newspapers etc), the camera dies, and the fone goes back to the standby screen.
I managed to figure this much out for myself that whenever the picture size exceeds a particular value (maybe ~600 KB), the camera behaved in this way.
So, is there some way by which i can overcome this limitation? Which part f the camdriver0.dat deals with this property?

Yes, same here. (I'm using Scorpio's camera modded driver R1CA, maybe he can find how to solve the problem by removing the limit in the driver).

I installed displaydriver too but I don't see any difference in display. Can you please explain what it does? Thankyou again for your precious work!

Does that mean that the ringer volume in the phone settings is totally supressed? Because even at full blast the player volume is still not that loud.

I haven't tried the R1C cam driver. The first patched driver I tried (i posted a link to it) was someone else's tweaked r1b version - it crashed my phone completely. So I read esp. rmcrys suggestions at se-nse and gleaned an understanding of the process. I then edited my existing camdriver (R1B) ver 4.5 with 85 and 95% compression respectively - and 85% for the mxe-60 (don't own one yet - but will). However I am still experimenting with frame rate - but around 11-13fps seems to be the sweet spot (faster and phone doesn't seem to keep up).

Photos seem better but I need to do more testing. They are certainly bigger (about 100-150 kb on average increase).

The compression values rmcrys suggests are in the r1c driver but the fps is slower and the value for mxe is low.

There are a few other differences but I'm not sure exactly how to read the values. The MAX and AVG values are different - are these to do with metering?
