I used to use Market Enabler to enable all apps in the market ( faking US T-Mobile ) and it was working perfectly even in market.android.com web site ( it shows I'm using T-Mobile network )...

duo to the fact I'm using the free Market Enabler, I have to repeat the steps every time I restart.. and I was experimenting something With Google Maps, so I removed it and rebooted... and here's the problem. Market Enabler doesn't have any effect now on Market I'm back to my local market which misses a lot of apps including Google Maps !!

the only way I can have Google Maps now is to manually install it from .apk file but I just hate the fact I can't do this using Market...

I tried several times and I tried MarketAccess also without success... the provider is faked without a problem but Market still sees my original provider !!

now I'm thinking of Master/Factory Reset but I'm seeking any other option atm... if there's any

Until few days back GPS was working like a charm.

Today I performed an upgrade of Google Maps to 5.9 .
And GPS doesn't work!!! Searching and searching, not able to
fix satellites!! Outside, sunny day...

Uninstalled upgrade, rebooted phone, reinstalled upgrade... .

GPS doesn't work! On old and new version of Maps.
Any ideas what can cause that? Anybody experienced similar
problems??!! What a disaster!

Try the GPS in other things like does the geo tagging symbol come up when you go to take a photo? Or download another app that uses the GPS and see if it works with that.

Pretty strange if it doesn't work with the original version of GM

@doministry

Try to install and run GPS Test and see how many satelites it can find (if any) and the quality of the GPS signals.

You can also try to uninstall Google Maps 5.9 and run the previous version and see if it still behaves the same.

Previous version didn't work either.
This is crazy but after second reboot it works again.
It's so strange!

Just got a notification about an arc firmware update this morning...

Anyone done this yet?

Need to know if it will wipe my phone or there is the option to keep your settings and SMS etc like the last update that contained the facebook sync update.

Thanks,

Unfortunately there are mixed reports regarding the newest software.
Some people say the batt life came back to much worse condition.
So anybody having this new FW please share your experiences.
I love batt life on my Arc now on .145 and don't want to lose it.

From my first few hours playing with the new FW (4.0.A.2.368) I can't comment on battery but I do like the effect on the pinch to widget overview in the new launcher; the widgets seem to float and move if you knock or shake the phone. I like the lock screen animation too. The setup guide has had a make-over. Other changes are very minor. I had a weird problem before where APNs weren't showing in the settings so if I wanted to change my APN I had to create a new one, this problem seems to still be there, my APN list is empty but I'm connected to the internet with no problems.

Just a question, I've been off the forum for a few weeks, when was this update released?

It seems it was released this week, with my phone receiving the update on Thursday. Overall I am quite pleased with the update. I like the CRT-off animation, new look calendar, new weather widget and some new apps that came with the update. With battery life, I would say there is definately no improvement, IMO I would say it is the same before. One thing I have noticed, which may not be a concern to some users is when i exit out of a app by pressing the home key, it takes a good second or more to take me to the homescreen. Before it was pretty much instant.

Mange: jag har!
I updated last week, using SEUS

i have a sim -free ARC misty silver

Edit: i have worse battery life now, just because i have to use "all animation" to get the CRT off animation, i have always used "no animation" to speed up and save battery, don't need that fancy all it does is slow my phone down :S i think i will sacrifice the CRT off animation shorty, it's not worth it.
