But man, my luck isnt always with me, I gave up on waiting yesterday becuase of the lack of confirmation of a release date. Went out and got a Nokia E71 but now it seems that that will be a short lived phone for me
X1 here I come!
I knew it!
I said a few pages back that people that gave up waiting for the X1 to get something else would end up getting the X1 anyway when it came out.

I envy you. Here in Oman we don't pay any tax at all so we can never get anything back from the government...
Are you joking?
No, not the first part. There is no income tax here in Oman.
My lame joke was about us not getting "gifts" (tax returns) from the government.
Apologies for soiling this thread with off-topic nonsense.
No Apologies required just look at some of the "on topic" nonsense written here I will no doubt go to hell for that, Ho Hum
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

I'm not a tech savvy like some of y'all are but can someone tell me the difference between the two Xperia X1 models?
I read that the X1i will have Qualcomm MSM7200A and the X1a will have Qualcomm MSM7201A.
Now, the question is: What's the difference between the two processors? Are they the same, just named differently due to patent infringement or is one faster than the other? if so, which one?
X1i - H.263 VGA @ 30fps and H.264 VGA @ 15fps
X1a - H.263 VGA @ 24fps and no H.264
Would video quality still be just as good on the X1a as it is on the X1i even if it's 6fps less?
>_< I can't seem to choose which one!!
if anyone can shed some light on me, i'd appreciate it a lot. |

You don't have a choice! The X1a is the American version, the X1i, for the rest of the world.

X1a records video in ((QVGA@24fps )) so yes you will clearly notice the resolution difference... 30~24fps are often the same in playback. |

Ahem - we were talking about "competing devices", in particular the Samsung Omnia, HTC Touch Pro, Iphone - not some crappy E71! You were suggesting that Touch Pro owners would be switching to the X1, which was, and is, silly.
Once the launch dust has settled, the X1 is still just another keyboarded, Windows Mobile phone.

LOL Boinng, I'm using a crappy E71. Regret it now though after seeing this http://www.modaco.com/content[....]/introducing-the-htc-touch-hd/
Anyway I'm quite pleased for SE that they're releasing the X1 on time. Excellent news for them and for all those planning on buying the X1.

I have a Diamond, but i would take the X1 over the touch pro any day, the HTC weighs some 15% more with no good reason too.

Outdated my friend......out dated . Screen is upwards of 3.2in it seems. More like 3.5. 5Mpx no flash, 1350mah battery. Looks great imo. Oh how I wish I was rich , what the hell am I supposed to do with my E71 now
