well, its really disappointing SE would miss the earpiece volume, tho they have step a notch with the external speakers, well i guess we should still use handsfree if we need volume.
argh! im really excited to try testing the new FW.
@numb
nice info you got there... now everyone is rarin to try the new FW, since it has alot to offer.

Is the R1AA008 firmware version for the K750i already available for download for APAC-1?
My current version is R1N035, but after updating, when I checked the version, it was still R1N035.
Please advise ASAP.
Thank you |

Yes, quite alot actually. Both in internal speaker (earpiece), external speaker, and in the handsfree. An overall volume increase everywhere is definately my experience.

He may have gotten it from a servicecentre, they usually have firmwares before SEUS does.
Maybe some more regions are available on SEUS today.

Here is a copy of what I sent to SE UK.
Subject: Phones
Product: K750i
Opinion: I was wondering when the new firmware for the K750i (R1AA008) will be on the Sony Ericsson Update Service and what issues this firmware addresses?
Thanks.
Country: United Kingdom
And here is the response.
Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre.
With regards to your enquiry, this is available now for Vodafone customers and we expect the other networks to approve it any day now. This software update improves file transfer between PC and phone and also it makes rotating and zooming pictures faster and displays an egg timer whilst processing.
Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support.

I know it says the other operators will approve it any day now, but what operator am I waiting on approving it, as I have an unbranded K750i???
Surely you'd think they'd release the unbranded version first? |

I als received an reply from SE Belgium. They say they r aware of the MSDUO bug and technicians r working on a new firmware. They can't say when a new firmware will be released on SEUS.
Just wait and wait ... |

still not available for eu2. Damn... I dont care about the MS bug, i use a card reader not the cable and their software... but the volume increase and speed when zooming pics are great news...

It doesnt matter if its unbranded, it still needs to be approved by every networkoperator in every country for use on their network.
Its is checked by SEUS via the SIM card which networkprovider is used.
For instance I have an unbranded phone and can choose to use any of the networkproviders in my country but one of them may not have approved the firmware because of issues with their network, then you would receive a message from SEUS saying not approved by your provider or something similar. If another operator in your country has approved the firmware, you may be able to borrow a simcard from a friend using that network and then do the update.
For branded firmwares they both need operator approval, but also branding made to the firmware (changes) by the operator before they can be released.
When EU4 is allready released while other regions have not yet been, simply means that networkoperators in my EU4 region are quick to approve the firmwares for their networks, and/or have good networks with less issues. Other regions may have poorer networks with more issues that delay approval, or simply sometimes operators with poor customerservice that doesnt prioritize approval of new firmwares as high as others thus delay the releasetime.
