I emailed SE yesterday and asked them when the next firmware would be released for Belgium.
This is the answer:

Sony Ericsson Call Center Belgium
Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB

Roughly translated they say that there is indeed a new firmware available since 10/2005. The new firmware is R1N035 and can be downloaded from the site.

Also some blabla about ringtones and virtual phones.

I've sent them a reply asking if they thought I was stupid and I asked them again: When wil R1AA008 be available for Belgium so the MSDUO bug on my phone can be solved.

I'll keep you posted.

That is as good as it gets

Ok - did the update to new firmware EU4 with ms duo removed, no problems experienced during update. Phone started up without problems. Turned it off, inserted the MS duo, and got the white flashing screen when turning on. Removing battery didnt help, but removing MS duo would let me start the phone again, inserted the MS duo with phone turned on, and it reads the MS duo without problems.
So if you get the white flashing screen when trying to turn on the phone, then try to remove the MS duo.

First fast impressions of new firmware, navigatingspeed feels generally quicker everywhere, also quick going backwards in menus, browsing speed in photos definately faster, and zooming in on pictures alot faster.

Both Internal and external speaker sound level increased.

Gammalevel (and overall quality) of screen very slightly improved also, not much but for a trained eye like mine its noticeable. Makes themes look better, with better colors and generally sharper since there are less white burnout. We are slowly getting where we want

Mediaplayer max sound level increased - by approx 2 nutches (1 full bar).
2 nutches (1 full bar) below max level my ears started hurting, so it should be loud enough for most people now.

Hissing problem when playing low level mp3 songs seems fixed, only hissing I could hear now was from the sourcefiles themselves.

Havent had time for more testing but will add up as I go along.

come on people, try and relax and hold your horses, the firmware is being released for all regions but we know as allways it takes a couple of weeks to get all regions finished and uploaded. And even longer for the branded ones.

Why are you spamming S//E with mails etc. when we allready know its on the way. Once one region is up its only a matter of time before the rest follows. As allways when new firmwares are released.

It will be ready for Belgium and all other regions when it has passed operator approvals and are done being uploaded to SEUS, not a second sooner or later. Spamming S//E with hatemails, or bombing the server with updatetries every third second doesnt help at all.

The only region I know of for certain right now are EU4, cause thats what I just updated with no errors. Others have posted also, but I cant remember the regions right now, look back in this thread to see.

I fully understand the impatience, but it cant be more than a few days now before all regions for unbranded phones are up.

Sorry Numb, but when people r paying 450 € for a phone you can expect SE to deliver a product that works the way it should. Releasing firmwares that make the phone work worse doesn't make it any better. Releasing firmwares for some parts of the world either. If SE is a customer friendly company they should at least give some info to there users like the releasedates of a firmware, the changes they made etc. Last firmware was on 10/10. How long r we to wait before some of the annoyances r gone? A week, a month, 2 months? If SE had the info on the site I wouldn't have to mail them.
