You should defenitely upgrade your firmware. They have added a few new features as well as made it faster and ironed out most of the bugs. Don't know if there is any SEUS client for Mac though. You can always take it to a SE service center if there isn't. |

No way at all of upgrading on a Mac unless you have an Intel-Mac, and are using Parallels Desktop or VMWare Fusion. I have done the upgrade for my SE, and my Nokia and encountered no problems at all. Your only option is the local SE Svc Ctr.
By the way, I am moving away from SE because they said they have no plans to support the Mac platform. Nokia on the other hand does support Mac in most things and will have a syncing client coming soon.

Just install R1JG001 for APAC via SEUS. Unlike any other firmware update this one does not seems to install anything when you first turn on your phone after updating. All is OK have not tried video preview as I prefer list anyway. |

What do you mean by not installing anything? You mean the 'please wait' bar? I DID have that 'please wait' for about 5 seconds. |

Hi guys,
Is there anyway to pre-download the firmware to the HDD then upgrade? Cause the net connection here is very bad... I'm afraid that it can disconnect and messes up my phone...
Please advise.

Yeah, nothing at all. I almost think that the phone is not updated. I go downstair for 10min (the computer is downloading about 55%) and when I go upstair I found that SEUS said update complete. Unplug the phone, put SIM card back and turn on. It is like ordinary turning on phone. No please wait, no progress bar, etc. Check the firmware it is already R1JG001. |

Don't worry firmware won't be installed until download is completed. Newer SEUS client also seems smarter and can resume download. If you are worry you can delete download folder within SEUS to let it restart the download instead of resuming.
What you have to make sure is your computer have UPS so it is not off during flashing the firmware. |

I just helped my mate's K800i updated to R1JG001 by using these steps. Sorry if it sounds stupid and an old news, I just felt happy that I could help my friend despite his low bandwidth internet connection:
After updating my own K800i to R1JG001 via the broadband connection, I noticed that the Update Service folder, usually as default located at Drive C of the PC, has increased in its file size. It means the downloaded files are saved somewhere in the folder. I just don't know where. It may be in the db sub-folder.
Then I copied the entire Update Service folder, burned it on a CD.
I went to my mate's home to help him update his phone.
1. On his PC, he ran SEUS.
2. At the end of installation, I suggested that he unticked the option "Run Update Service", so SEUS isn't launched.
3. I pasted my Update Service folder in which R1JG001 files are saved to his Update Service folder. It asked to replace the existing files, I said Yes to All.
4. He ran SEUS.
5. SEUS directly came to Checking for updates and Finalisation.
6. Then Selecting location.
7. Phone detection: Hold C...release C...
8. Continue update? Yes...
9. SEUS showed downloading files only for 2 seconds and directly came to Updating phone, don't touch it....
10. Update finished.
11. He got R1JG001. It just took less than 10 minutes.
We are of the same CDA, of APAC customisation. So it worked flawlessly although his internet connection was so slow...
The point is, he didn't have to download the R1JG001 files. He still however needed the internet connection just to run the updater/ SEUS itself. But the speed wasn't a problem at all.
