@sponse:
I would try to change it, as i would think it affects the pic quality
But I am not sure to see well...
Not sure it is possible, as they can argue this came in the lens after you purchased it, which you could argue in return that the phone is supposed to be dust proof.
Anyway, if you try, worst case you may find out it it is not possible, and you will move on.
Best case you get one without dust, and be at peace.
If you don't try, you will keep thinking you should have tried.
So my conclusion is: try to get it changed!

@Sponse Well, it's really your choice, but here's my take of it. If you have a less than stellar screen, I'd say go exchange it for a new one so you may possibly get one with a better screen and of course a lens without the dust in it. Now, if you already have an excellent screen and if there's no quality problem with the lens, stick with your phone.
@Tyko Yes, I was the one that was unlucky enough to receive a right side blur defect like GSMArena. Clove replaced it with absolutely no hassle and question asked. Thought they could've read emails more often so that my Z1 was not delayed. Anyway, so far I don't seem to see this problem with my current one. Haven't really got the chance to thoroughly test my camera yet. |

So as most of you gusy know I am loving my Z1, and just before when I was going to send a tweet, my Xperia Z1 flickered for 1 sec then the screen turned black.
It does not turn on anymore, and PC companion just says cant connect to my pgone, is there anything I can do? Like a software reset or did my Z1 just die on me? |

@monkeypantz this happened to me also. you need to press the power button and the volume up key at the same time for about 10seconds the phone should do a small vibrate followed by a longer one. This will reboot your phone. Don't worry it doesn't wipe any data. Hope it works for you. |

great advice 100% agree
you could exchange it and end up with something that has real problems that you notice, better the devil you know especially if it's not really a devil at all |

wow.. a lot has happened since i've been busy the past few days..
@monkeypantz - there is a red hard reset button in the SIM card compartment. Just open up the sim tray flap and you'll see it. you'll need a sharp tip pen or something similar to push it. hold it down til the phone vibrates and it will restart. I've had to do this once myself but that was before the latest firmware update.
@geoffxx - i noticed a bit of a yellow hue to my screen too. actually, i didn't notice until i installed the display adjuster and added a bit of blue. haven't had any real problems with it.
@shotokan and anyone else who's wondering - before the firmware update, my phone got fairly hot when playing a game for 45 minutes straight. It was expected though and it was not so hot that i couldn't touch it. I held the back of the phone to my wrist and i didn't have to pull it away. So, to me, it wasn't excessively hot at all. I've also had NO problems or errors concerning camera overheating either. Now, after the firmware update, either I've gotten used to how warm it gets or it just doesn't get as hot as it did initially. Not sure. It still gets warm, but not excessively at all. Personally, I don't think there will be a glue issue with the glass lifting off the frame like on the Z because of a few reasons. First, the aluminum frame of the Z1 is a great heat dissipator and will reduce excessive heat, especially around the rim where the glue/double sided tape is. Second, I just don't think it's hot enough to melt the adhesive where the glass will LIFT off. I've watched HD video on my phone for 4 hours straight and had no issues of overheating or excessive heat. *shrug*
I love my phone! I actually noticed a scratch today and i freaked out! I had dropped my phone from my bed to the floor and it hit the metal frame. I heard a loud clang and i was worried I had cracked or scratched something. Initially, I didn't notice ANYTHING.. but after very close examination, i found a small scratch. My heart sank as I lifted the illumishield to make sure it was the glass. IT WAS NOT! It was the illumnishielf
I've been so busy lately with home renovations, I haven't had many chances to take photos, but I intend to take more soon. I love my Z1!

i am rarely lucky.. so i guess i just used up all the luck i'll ever get for the next 30 years with my Z1.
to be honest, i'd have rather used that bit of luck to win the powerball jackpot :/

Accoridng to Mobile Syrup the Z1 will be available in Canada via Telus on the 15th. $725 to buy outright, and $99 on a 2 year contract. They've also previously announced it'll be available via Bell on the 15th to buy outright for $699.
My carrier is Rogers, and we know they're getting the Z1, but no leaks on release date or pricing yet. Hoping it's the same day and I'd LOVE for it to be the same pricing as Telus as I want to use my upgrade option.
Very interested to test zomgs statement about the C6906 will not use any of the inferior panels at all. I'll probably swing by a Telus and Bell store on the 15th and try to test them out. Maybe even a Sony Store if they have 'em on display by then. The Z Ultra seems to be a Bell exclusive, so if they have it there I'll try to do some side by side comparisons.
EDIT
Interesting... just checked the sony.ca website and it looks like they've redone it since I was last there. Previously if you went under mobile phones you'd only see the ZL and T, but now there are no phones at all listed there, only some accessories and Smartwatch 2. I didn't realize SM 2 is only $149 CDN... pretty damned cheap! It's tempting, but I think I'll still try to hold out for next years version.

according to sony, the warranty is not applied on dust under the screen, so if i send the phone to them, they will make me pay for the repair.
they have told me to contact my seller for changing the handset. |

@sponse surely with the phone being dust proof any dust under the screen would be classed as defect of the product which should be covered under the warranty
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

so i went to the store today, and they have opened a new one, and gave me a new one, which had a screen defect.
i told them that i don't want that one, i took mine back and that's it, i will live with the super tiny dust, as it's not on the lens, but near it, and it cant be seen if your not searching for it. |
