If you want one of these OLED's that Sony made in one of phones... then you will have to pay $1500 as a price
OLED is not AMOLED... OLED uses a very expensive manufacturing method compared to AMOLED
Sony already has OLED on sale, their first OLED TV was just 11" TV but with a $3500~4000 price tag
The current Sony OLED tech. is still not mature for real mass production or for larger screen as larger the screen get the much much higher cost comes... they use something similar to what semiconductor market use ( think about Silicon based chips like CPU's and GPU's ) so larger the screen larger the chances it will be faulty, so from a wafer that is 300mm width ( circular ) they may get 1 or 2 only 11" screens, just to know that that wafer alone cost $4000 !!
AMOLED in another hand uses regular TFT panel behind the Organic matrix, TFT are cheap and very well known as they are being used for decades now in LCD's to control each pixel in the panel...

rumor
Specifications of Xperia Duo :
- Dualcore .
- 4.3-4.5 inch and higher resolution than Xperia arc .
- 12 OR 16 megapixel , Xenon flash with full hd " Exmor R " .
- 1,5 GB RAM .
- 8 GB internal memory .
- Battery 2500 mAh .
.done
I guess it's a really rumor or guess ( or at least a hope )
4.3" is the maximum for most peoples on this planet, I'll say that as I think any one will use a phone with larger than 4.3" screen as a phone is an alien... like the HR guy in our company ( he uses the Galaxy Tab !! )
and I think it's no way 2500 mAh batteries can be used as these are too big for now, there's companies that provide custom large 3rd party batteries for some devices but in mostly these are 2000mAh and they require change of the back cover to hold the battery !!
The rest of spec. I'll not hope that about it so I'll not be disappointed later, so I'll not talk about them

^^ The 16MP sensor is enough to make my mouth water, if true, we can finally see if the sensor is really worth it. though the specs suggest that it could be a hybrid like Motorola Atrix

Xenon alone is enough for a lot of people to go for the Duo, I know I certainly would so lets hope the rumours is true.

Are ship this with knapsack?!
I`m still questioning existence of this phone. It looks quite unbalanced to me... just look how far down the hardwere keys are, with display that big it will be very hard not to drop the phone when trying to press one of them (using with one hand).
I hope I`m wrong of course. |

who said they made profit just by selling psv? its thru software sales they make profit, and later on when the components become cheaper they make profits thru hardware sales. Take ps3 for example, they used to sell at 600$ with 200$ loss. Sony ericsson on the other hand does not have its own store capable of driving such kind of software sales. Maybe after a year since vita has launched, the prices of oleds will reduce and then we might see more phones having oleds?
On the other hand i do have walkman x which has 3" oled, for 400$... so i think its going to be pretty expensive to have 4.3" right now on oled with phone...

There's probably nothing worth getting really excited about. Maybe the st18i will be announced tomorrow, but no duo |

Fingers cross, no duo tomorrow. If duo is revealing itself tomorrow, it will be packed with 45nm scorpion. Which will not be good considering a Q4 launch.
28nm krait on duo please, even if it mean next year! Oh and larger ram and rom than arc.
