Just going through the manual, it actually seems as if there isn't a video call camera. It says:
"You can share experiances with friends and family as they happen or save them to share later. You can see the person you are talking to on your screen. The other person sees what is on your main camera
Not that i've ever video called, but i liked using the camera as a mirror, sometimes
We'll just have to wait and see.

There IS a video call camera. I've asked SE support.

Thats alright then, SE's user manuals have never really been very good, i did find it strange, not that it is a big problem for me. The main use of 3G for me is internet access, video calls have never really been something i'd actually use.

again this phone doesn't have the missed call or text message or email indicator its like the k850. i hate that. i love w960 because it has that light indicator tells you have recieved a missed call or text message or email. |

I really don't think that this one has a videocall camera on the front.
I don't think SE would have missed that in the manual.
I think the SE support is wrong, woulden't be the first time.
Or maybe not completly wrong. What I think they meen is that it has a videocall camera but not in the front. It uses the main camera.

That's what the user manual also says.
I don't think that the user manual is that bad so that that whole chapter about videocalls is wrong! |

I'm not sure why they made this choice because it's so stupid, but it seems to me that because it's a camera centric device, you can see them and they can share what your filming. So dum.

Ahh so backwords. So dum! And i can't find an alternative to this phone i'm afraid...i checked the Renoir but it's not a "finished" phone. Well since videocall isn't the most important thing for me i'll just have to take it...but it's stupid i tell ya! |

It's actually the same case with some i-mate devices (namely Ultimate 8502), where the video call camera is the main camera. So you can see whoever you're videocalling, but they will see what your viewfinder sees. Quite absurd actually, not that video call is that important though. |
