zomgbbqftw part 2:
Got some more info on the screen. Best in class contrast, around 1700:1, and the filter has some new ambient light rejection stuff which allows people to view it in direct sunlight without any issues. It is technology exclusive to Sony and from what I was told they are not licencing it to anyone. It will help save battery life as direct sunlight viewing will no longer require full brightness.

BOOM !
It's all super simple stuff. Look at areas that people or critics thought deficient, and look to improve them.
Sunlight viewing is problematic in all smartphones cause of brightness and the fact that the screen is overlaid with highly reflective glass.
Btw, where us ZOMG posting this? Neogaf? Or elsewhere. Could I get a link to the thread?

Now that Nokia is finally out of the game, can Sony now use Carl zeiss on their smartphones?
They could start a partnership with Zeiss at any point, if Zeiss are down for it, but that doesn't mean that they will be able to use any of the technology co-developed with Nokia, so working with Zeiss doesn't give Sony any sort of guarantee that these new lenses will be better than the old ones.. tho it needs to be said that it can't really get much worse for them at this point so it might be a good idea to outsource those.
Smartphone optics are tricky. |

^ I'm just wondering if MS bought all the camer tech licenses of Nokia. Sony should definitely invest on those seeing that MS is surely not going to focus on camera unlike Nokia.
I also hope that Sony would step up their game in mobile photography. I still think they're holding back their potential because of their camera division. They should realize that mobile camera is what the market demands. Actually, it worries me that Nokia is now out since no one else would push Sony to develop new tech in mobile cameras.

@ noda
Snapdragon 810 wont even come at 1st quarter of 2015
((the 808 and 810 likely won't show up in devices until the first half of 2015))

according to digitimes, the 808 and 810 will be available before year end 2014, so if anything perhaps the Z4 if it shows up at CES 2015, might be sporting the 810.

Possible Z3 information. Not even close to 100% though...
5.2" 1080p IPS, new anti-reflective and anti-glare filters borrowed from their TV division.
Significantly smaller bezels.
Same sized battery.
S805 @ 2.5GHz.
4GB RAM.
Waterproof.
Slightly slimmer by around 0.5mm.
Wireless charging in built, but requires the purchase of some kind of charging accessory.
One prototype uses the new USB micro standard which is reversible and holds a higher charge.
i read both Quotes for zomgbbqftw
this one and the other
honestly too good to be true
also i think SONY will never use the new S808 as they did before with the S600 & S800
they may use the S810 directly in the Z4 after they use the S805 in the Z3
no S808 for SONY |
