That always bothered me. Why sell the best you have and use less quality for your own products.

I hope Sony doesn't make usb the primary means of charging our phones. I don't find the USB port very reliable over time, I prefer the docking method.

I'm pretty excited about the Z2 ultra. If they can add a flash to the camera, make it smaller all round and keep the same screen it will be fantastic device.

MicroNokia would have a few things to say about that.

MicroUSB is needed for data transfer. The docking port is great, and if they can give it data transfer functionality, that'd even better. However, they should never get rid of MicroUSB charging. Even if they switch to a magnetic charger/data transfer cable, MicroUSB should always be there.

You have no idea, how many times my phone has been saved, by being able to use any other persons phone charger. The cross compatability of chargers in the android space, and even the handful of blackberries, is indispensable

I have to agree with XYZ

My Xperia X10 was the 1st phone I had with MicroUSB charging as I came from a Nokia 5800xm, at that time BlackBerrys were gaining huge momentum here, everyone of my friends was getting a BB while I went Android, luckily BB used MicroUSB charging so despite me using a SE and them using BBs I never had to worry about carrying a charger, and I found that the BB 9900 Bold charger charged my X10 faster than the SE charger itself.

MicroUSB has been the best thing to happen to consumers in this industry, well except for iPhone buyers.

goldenface said primary means of charging not only means of charging.

The dock at the minute is more usable than USB in routine use. We'll see what the next specification USB brings but I agree with goldenface.

Do you know if current Xperias could be charged by micro USB and magnetic charging port at the same time? It would be useful if they put magnetic port, USB and wireless charging in an advanced dock for ultra-fast charging.

That won't happen. The limit is not the number of ports, but rather how much current the battery can safely accept. Also remember that the faster you charge a battery, the faster it wears out.

FoV is decreased because of the software stabilization. And you can only appreciate it on video. A 3-axis (2-axis seems not as useful) would greatly help in both stills and video.

give me proper argument when 3-axis OIS hardware generally available to consumer market, or at least when Nokia would allowed other manufacturers to license out this technology. otherwise it's invalid to me.

So rumors about Z3 but not about Z2Compact...
Shame it would be pretty awesome to see 4,5" Z2C with the same casing az Z1C but smaller bazels.
Also I think it will be a real hit over the holiday season when iPhones will be also bigger devices as Android flagships and many people will start to look about smaller ones.

Possible Z3 information. Not even close to 100% though...
5.2" 1080p IPS, new anti-reflective and anti-glare filters borrowed from their TV division.
Significantly smaller bezels.
Same sized battery.
S805 @ 2.5GHz.
4GB RAM.
Waterproof.
Slightly slimmer by around 0.5mm.
Wireless charging in built, but requires the purchase of some kind of charging accessory.
One prototype uses the new USB micro standard which is reversible and holds a higher charge.

Now I wonder how much of those specs are going to make it over to the launched unit.

I'm going to go ahead and say that the things that won't carry over, is the RAM (I think 3GB is fine) and the neew Micro USB standard (its too new, and not widely available/supported yet).

The rest seems fairly reasonable, and frankly expected. The Z2 has a great display for sure, but its not as bright as competition and his hilariously reflective. Like....it could be used as a mirror. That anti-glare/reflectance filters had better be really good. Anything like the ClearBlack tech that Nokia used once upon a time, would be perfect.
Also, increased contrast would be nice. Also a stable gamma that is 2.2. They had that in pre-production Z2's, but changed it for some reason...

Next thing I want to hear about is the camera and its software. Well, the design as well of course.
