Man thats pretty exciting. I like the blue colour best as well. If E.I. don't have stock, etown have it fairly cheap as well.
I'm getting all my holiday pay paid out from work next week and so I'll be able to afford a non-parallel import W910i. This should keep me happy for a good year or so until I upgrade, possibly to something like the C902 as well, but I'll see whats around! Are you sure it has WiFi though? I don't think it does...

I think you're right, it's the G900 that has Wifi. I hope they incorporate Wifi into the C902 as I like it's styling better and not particularly worried about touchscreen.

Yeah well there is the rumoured WiFi accessory, though I think that's a bit of a laugh.
Interesting news for prepay Vodafone customers which I found out today at First Mobile. Well it's news to me! Apparently as a prepay customer, you can be eligible for an upgrade, that's a discount on a new phone. So next time you're in for a new phone, it might be worth a check. They checked both my prepay numbers but unfortunately I can't get one. So it's probably unlikely, yet worth a try!
As for the W910i, apparently some shops are treating it as an order-only phone. That's what my local Noel Leeming says. They say they can negotiate on the price though, so I'm hopeful! Hehe.

I've just added a "New Zealand Threads of Interest" section to the first post. At the moment it includes humphreybc's "Vodafone vs Telecom" thread, and carkitter's "Team Vodafone 2007 thread". Sure it's the 2007 thread, but it's still a good read!
I've also added to the rumour that there are sheep everywhere in New Zealand.
If you want anything else added, just let me know!

Guess what I have in my pocket!
A Havana Bronze W910i
Costed me $724 so you better be excited for me! And you have no idea how much I went through to get it.
I went to First Mobile across town from my house and successfully negotiated the price down by $75. I noticed when he got the box out, that he randomly had it below the counter and not out in the storeroom. Also, the box was a bit tatty, but it was their only one so I took it. I drove it home excitedly, it rode shotgun in the front seat.
When I got home, I immediately opened it up and had a go. I noticed that there was no removable screen protector and that it was in a tatty plastic bag. I immediately started to wonder. And then, the final blow, I looked in the photo album and saw somebody's photos taken in a small town near Christchurch. A bunch of retired and Chinese folk grinning at MY PHONE! I was pissed off. I then looked at the bottom of the phone and saw it had a very noticeable dent in it. I was angry.
I put it all back in the box and drove back across town and told them they sold me a second hand phone. They acted surprised (or maybe they were surprised), so I didn't get too angry at them. They promised me another, but they had none in stock so they said they'd get me one from another store... I offered to drive over and pick it up, so they sorted everything out by ringing the other store, etc. Once they figured it all out, I had less than 20 minutes - in rush hour - to get across to the other store before they closed!!!
Luckily I knew a shortcut. Hehe.
I arrived with 2 minutes left on the clock and received my new phone from a man with a badly twitching eye.
And all this being rushed around was in the hot sun, and now I have a headache!
Anyway I love my new phone even though I haven't had a decent play with it yet. The new SE interface is taking a bit of getting used to. So are the new buttons which are nothing like the V630i! Also, when writing a text, I'm used to pressing the right softkey for the options menu, but now it is on the left because the left softkey is "back". That's what I've noticed so far. I'm enjoying the better video recording too. And the beautiful big 2.4" screen!
Any questions class?

Alright, the pictures as requested!
12 of 'em:
Firstly, the ugly red Vodafone box! I was hoping for something a bit classier because I know that Vodafone branded Walkmans in the past like the W950i came in a really nice box.
I know you're loving that box!
All the accessories which I haven't even had a chance to get out of their packaging yet!
Finally, the W910i. Notice that there is absolutely NO Vodafone branding on the outside of it! I am quite pleased about that! The usual inside though, but you can change that with themes.
Check out the fastport on this baby:
Slider open! Ooh I've got a message. Think I'll view it on my 2.4" screen...
FINGERPRINT!
Ah, better:
I love this theme... Suits the brown, and replaces them nasty Vodafone icons
W910i vs V630i comparisons:
One thing I'm finding hard to get used to is the "slide to unlock" thing. I keep wanting the star key unlock. I'll get used to it though.
Enjoy!

Mmmmm... nice! I guess you'll be changing your avatar then. It's one of the best things about getting a new phone IMO, changing the Esato avatar. Do you read the instruction manual? I always do, cover to cover. Then I spend hours on Zedge looking for new themes. I can't wait to get my T650; had another look on E.I. website just to make sure it was still there...
The Havanna Gold looks awesome and the slider style is certainly a step up from the V630i. Congrats again!

SE dot co dot NZ updated with X1, W980, C902, C702, G700 and W350 listed as Coming Soon! I want that W980; it looks like an up-spec cross between a V800 and a MotoV3 - not a bad thing at all - and it'll probably work with the Wifi Enabler too meaning everything I want in one phone! Cool!
Anyone seen the latest Repco catalogue? Sony MEXBT-2500 A2DP Headunit reduced $80 to $319.00. Tempting...
MEXBT-5000 is available from Repco via special order at $799 RRP.

Nope! I'm sticking with my very first SE, the T100i! Well, I would change to the W910i if there was a Havana Bronze version. We'll see if that turns up when Laffen gets time to update the avatars. I'm not worried though! I always have a quick flip through the instruction manual, but with the W910i, I've had to keep referring back because of the new software, which is actually more complicated than you'd expect! I'm getting used to it though.
That's one thing I have to do; find some decent themes which change the menu icons cause, I only have two like that.
Man, the T650i is gonna be awesome! I have to admit, the day before I go my new phone, the K770i was tempting me a bit. But I wouldn't be as happy with that phone as I am now! So far no bugs! I can't wait to see some T650i pictures of the phone and taken with it! Will we be seeing some 3.2 MP pictures in the March photo competition? When do you think you'll be upgrading?
Oh yeah and I love the W980i too! I just think it's going to be even more expensive than the W910i or even the K850i! Maybe it will be my next phone though.
About the head-units, man I want one! I have such a crappy one in my car. It's the standard Toyota Mini-Disc player and it's useless to me cause I don't have mini-discs. Plus it only gets a few NZ stations because it's set up for Japanese frequencies! Grrr. And I can't afford one after buying my phone.

@ Carkitter and MO,Do me a favour and phone around and enquire over there what colour T650i's they have in stock.Over here we only seem to have the blue ones at all the networks. The sales guy says each country get a designated colour and thats that.(dont know how true that is) South Africa got the blue T650i's unfortunitey.Me personally love the Green one.Its a beauty. My boss wants to upgrade to the T650i but she wont take the Blue.It must be the Green or she'll look at something else.I love the design and build of the T650i.

@JiSm: Wow, a W980i already? That's so lucky, I love that phone's looks... I'm guessing NZ won't see it for a year yet though!
@HOBBS: We don't get the T650i here unfortunately. The one carkitter plans to buy is an import. He can get whatever colour he wants, and for cheap too, but he won't get much support from Vodafone unfortunately. We do get the K770i in silver, which is similar, but the majority of SE's phones don't make it to our shores, apart from through importers.
Perhaps you could try an importer over in South Africa? Do you get many phone importers?

@HOBBS
Just as M-O said. Much as I like the Havanna Gold on the W910i and V640i, I will be going for the T650 because it's features and price match what I'm looking for ATM. Plus its also my own little protest against SENZ and VodafoneNZ with thier treatment of SE fans. I'll be happy if we get the whole range of Coming Soon phones before they are obselete though!
Gotta phone call today to say that the one-day photography course on Sat that I'd enrolled in has been cancelled due to lack of interest. Oh well, there's another in May, I'll try that.

She's on contract with a service provider called MTN so what they have is what you get.Might try and see if they can get hold of Sony Ericsson in Johannesburg and squeeze a green one out of them.If I wasnt into 'smartphones' the T650i would also be my phone of choice,in green of course.Feels real good in the hand.Nice size and weight.Stunning.If I was a service provider I'd head on over to NZ and sort your cellular industry out. Those buggers are taking you for a ride. You need more competition so the prices can drop.C'mon Virgin.Head on over to NZ and kick thiose other two service providers in the ass.
