SE XTND is a better choice of software managing T68 contacts.
Uninstall your current XTND. Then reinstall it with the following order. First step, Mobile phone monitor. Second step XTND.
Before you run XTND, there is another important thing to do. Download another programme from SE, Called MyPictueR3E. Use it to upload at least one picture to T68.
From no onwards, you should be able to use XTND |

Thanks for the tip all8 although I am afraid it didn't work. I have got FMA working and also the MSI Mobilet working too. I have copied all my contacts using that one at a time saving them as business cards. Not the quickest way but it's done now. As for the Ericsson software no joy at all. So I rung up the technical support at Ericsson and they tell me that the XTND software doesn't support XP (which is my OS).
However, they did say that the package v 1.5.1 does now support XP. So I unistalled MPM and XTND and installed the package which is apparently has the MPM built in and it still doesn't work. In fact none of their software seems to work ie. the 'my pictures' and the 'image editor'. Has anyone managed to get any of these working in XP? |

I am using MSI keys on one notebook XP and 4 others Desktop ME. I have had problems with XP initially. Now, all connectivity issues are full resolved by the procedures as described in my last thread. Try it, it will work. |

I did try what you suggested in your previous thread. However, I could not get the MyPictureR3E to download a picture either. I will try again but all these ericsson programs say they cannot see my phone. Do you know what COM port they use? Do I need to connect my phone serial port to a particular COM port? |

Ok Ok!! Success!! Well done All8 you are right it does work. I guess I was too drunk the other night! What I did have to do was enable a different COM port than 4 as 4 kept disconnecting. Got the picture to send and now XTND works. Thanks! |

First of all, i'm happy to say that i've waited for so long to purchase this MSI BT..and finally last night..I had the time to go and visit Dino at his store in Megamall...and went straight home to install my new toy...
but then...my problems started....and I was saying to myself....this s*cks big time....I've tried everything I know about this thing, knowledge not only from postings here but my own research about the MSI BT online and yet something still happened to me!!! Aargh! I don't know if anyone of you out there has experienced this but any kind of help would be really really really apreciated!
First, the good news:
Everything went ok! I installed the widcomm version .15 driver on my Win ME toshiba satellite. I got the driver from the msi website...everything went well...my phone was paired well with the pc...using FMA...i was able to download logos, screensavers, backgrounds, send/receive text messages, etc. and I even attempted to attach my HBH-15 to the pc...no luck...oh well..that's ok coz I wanted to surf...and surf I did using the DUN of globe...was able to connect and voila...I connected and now for the bad news:
I thought there was some misconfiguration that's why I couldn't open any website...it always had a "DNS error" on every page i visited...I noticed that no packets were coming in...so I said to myself it must be a globe problem....so naturally I disconnected so I can use my own ISP...and once I got connected, the same thing happened! I couldn't surf at all...yes...I was able to log in and all but no web page ever came up, I tried my 2 other ISP's...its the same!
So I checked for device and adapter conflicts...and found one with the LAN Access server, so deleted that...restarted...connected...and still no web page!
Finally I gave up after doing several installs and reinstalls....I new there was a conflict somewhere....but none showed up anymore in the system menu on the control panel...thank heavens for the system restore feature of Win ME...I was able to revert back to my settings yesterday...but I didn't want to give in...so I tried installing again for about 2 more times until I noticed that its almost 5 a.m. already...the sun's coming up in a while and i've been working on this for almost 7 hours...and I'm too tired...so I said to myself...i give up.
So here I am...after my 5th system restore...with no MSI usb BT installed....no FMA...no MPM...nada whatsoever.....and pleading to whomever can help me set this up. I'm beginning to wonder if this BT key is really worth the effort...
Thanks in advanced! muchos muchos thanks to anyone who can help!

P.S.
I would gladly meet up with anyone from SE Mobile Phils., for lunch or merienda (my treat ), who can help me set this up...my mind has been too drained...this is the first time a peripheral kept me awake until, lterally, the early morning. You can reach me via 0919-8324489 or mattoy@mytextmail.com....if you're up to it...

The adapter itself works fine (bought today in Russia, SPb for 45 USD - it's our Russian domestic currency ). New software from MSI lose the "Advanced" button from hardware setup tab. So I can't tune adapter to Low/Medium/High signal strength. I've checked different levels for old software and found that connection distance vary depending on the setting. Is there a place into registry or an utility with new somwhere that can help me to tune signal strength? Maybe I need to set it on High and just forget about this... Is there any possible problem of too string signal for MSI adapter? Why did they make setting for older software and remove it from new?

@619,
Aack! really? I don't think changing OS at this time is a good idea...backing up my more than 5GB of stuff is somewhat really difficult....and I really have come to a halt...I dunno what else to do...i've been racking my brain to see what other things I could have done wrong....if worse comes to worse then i'm going to ask for professional help...any suggestions where I can ask for tech support for installing this MSI BT key here in the Phils.?
Thanks in advance!

i am not using that driver version (and arnoldc reported it as "crippled"). i got 1.2.2.4 working fine on my machine.
if you can't find the the other version previously available from their website, you can install the drivers that came from the CD instead.
can you do WAP from the phone? |

I want one too, but I have one question: how thick is it?
I need to know this because my laptop has 2 usb-ports next to each other and I want to be able to use both my mouse and the bluetooth-connection |

don't worry about the thickness. it came with an extension cable that you can use. |
