josephnero, it would be great if we can manually set display resolution.
the only video I could find from Android Central is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBdkvZPJqLM but it doesn't mention about the option to set display resolution |

I just read this from GSMArena
"As of now, neither the G6 nor the S8 have any official HDR content available for consumption. Let's hope Netflix and Amazon flick the switch because it's not as if there isn't any HDR content out there; it's just not being made available for mobile yet."
When they wrote their hands-on Xperia XZ Premium, the tune was completely different. The lack of HDR content made the bragging right of 4K HDR display to the XZ Premium redundant.
I usually refrain from accusing them unless it is too obvious but now I feel it is very obvious some if not entire crew of GSMArena has an agenda.

That's funny.. I don't remember them bashing the HDR of the XZP for lack of HDR content. I know for sure, Amazon has 4K HDR content available right now.
Also, Sony advertises that you can watch 4K HDR content through Amazon. Maybe you only get the HDR content if it's 4K and not for lower resolutions? If so, too bad, so sad G6 and S8.

didn't find it in that hands on preview...
only mention of HDR says that "it's a game changer" on the body and screen page. strangely enough, GSMarena also states on this page that it is aware Netflix and Amazon have HDR content.

I never said they were bashing the screen, I said the way GSMArena expressed themselves were the accessibility to get 4K HDR contents were limited. Therefore, the 4K HDR display of the Xperia XZ Performance redundant feature.
Anyway, I wrote that when I got home in a semi-drunk state yesterday and wasn't thinking completely straight.
I got home and wanted to have someone to blame for me not feeling fully satisfied with the XZ Premium (from what I have seen so far).

There are many more inconsistencies like that in reviews. I notice this all the time.

Along with Amazon, Netflix will be supported on the XZ Premium to show HDR content but not for a little while yet.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head
