Sony Xperia T review:

Final words

The Sony Xperia T is by all means an impressive phone. The dual-core Krait does a great job of competing with many other flagships not only on its home turf, but in the quad-core arena as well. Add to that a display that pushes out an impressive amount of pixels without issue, and a streamlined Android ICS interface that introduces some nifty features and optimizations not offered by other OEMs, you have a package that is very well put together.

while the Android experience is something that has largely been the same across different OEMs, Sony has struck a great balance between great-looking apps and features on an optimized Android core that looks fresh yet familiar. True that while the Xperia T may be behind in the numbers race, the software package that it delivers is truly among the nicest we've seen.

Sometimes it's not enough to simply have the best around - you want to make a statement. Where some makers let the numbers talk, Sony are trying to appeal to emotions with the Xperia T's top notch design and feel. We're happy with the meal, but we guess there's room for dessert. And we sure hope Jelly Bean doesn't take too long.

Wow, I really thought that Sony would make a phone with one of the best imaging, photos are even or worse compared to Xperia S(which wasn't very good either), and what's the deal with 1080p videos? Why can't Sony pull of nice 1080p? Really just check this, it's pathetic for a company that makes sensor for many other phones... Now I could live with photo quality, as it's very similiar to competition (except of Nokia of course), but what's the deal with 1080p quality?...

Note that photos are scaled to 8MP to compare. SGS III blows them away -.-

Who needs 13MP if it can't compete against 8MP? ...

I completely don't undertand it. Sony makes most of cameraphone sensors. For SGSIII, Iphones, etc. Then why can't the put any effort into making their photo quality at least equal to major competitors? Shots at gsmarena are full of noise and oversharpening. Anyone from Sony mobile reading esato? Why they are even below satio's level?

Just compared SE X10 to Xperia T. Sony is making a new record here, 2 year old phone with 8MP blows T away... But on the other hand, Xperia P photos are fantastic(but 1080p really sucks), wtf Sony?

FINALLY!!! Finally someone out there gets what Sony is just trying to do in the past 14mths and what they SHOULD be doing!!

Sony = Bold, HTC = underlined (above).

This is almost the exact same principle that Apple has always tried to acheive with their products - beyond the early users that got on board back in 1984 ... nobody understood until 2008 when sales began to climb. Sony realizes its NOT about the specs - they'll loose to larger manufacturers that have economies of scale to better match cost pricing in supply chain. We ALL know the fan base has been there - emotionally tied & faithful to their products, being gentle in their criticism but it seems now Sony is on par with them.

Finally.

What kind of image stabilization Xperia T uses for stills? Is it related to gyroscope as in some LG models (eg if camera movement/shake is detected image won't be captured). I know this is far from OIS in 920, but still would like to know.

Cheers,

bronxdude,
you're right I guess haven't seen Amazing Spiderman so I'm behind. I choose Dark Knight Rises over that this summer.

Tsepz_GP,
Friends with Benefits, haven't seen it. So twice I'm out.

Ricky D,

Very close with Quantum of Solace but that movie featured feature phones, and only 1 smartphone: M600.

randomuser,

I think you have it (not the movie I was thinking about but). I didn't see Friends with Benefits, when where characters using them?

SALT was the movie I was thinking of because I used it last night.
Salt, Angelina Jolie was using an Xperia X1 silver at the beginning of the movie, her russian undercover counterpart (that she killed with chains in her handcuffs near the end) was using a P1, along with the director of investigation for the CIA ... he also had a P1.

I almost feel sad that we no longer see SonyEricsson, Ericsson, or Sony prototypes in movies anymore. Like that R384/5 (?) based prototype smartphone that Pierce Brosnan used in open qwerty-clamshell mode to remote control his BMW 5 Series.

Sony Mobile ME finally started response to the availability of T, TX & V in MENA

متى ينزل هاتف sony xperia T في منطقة الشرق الاوسط ؟؟؟

When will the Sony Xperia T be available in Middle East region ?

Xperia T
سيطرح في المغرب وجنوب أفريقيا في آخر الربع الرابع من سنة 2012 أو أول الربع الأول من عام 2013.

Xperia TX
سيتم طرحه في جميع أسواق الشرق الأوسط ما عدا المغرب وجنوب أفريقيا في آخر الربع الرابع من سنة 2012 أو أول الربع الأول من عام 2013.

Xperia T
Will be available in Morroco and South Africa in late 4Q12 or early 1Q13...

Xperia TX
Will be available in all ME markets except Morocco and South Africa in late 4Q12 or early 1Q13...

So no T for us, TX has better looking anyway, but it's too late !!

I guess I will wait till the next nexus range is uncovered and decide... unless I found a used XS or GS3 for low price to use till 2H13

But I'll try to call local dealer to confirm if they know anything
