I wonder how many of those sold on their Galaxy S shortly after buying it like you did ? those facts and figures never give that sort of information.

May have an effect on return buyers, those who were disappointed with the galaxy s may not bother with samsung again. I was the same about SE. Not owned 1 since having 2 K800's and a K600 just die on me (flashing led of death). I liked the galaxy s from the start, though did find it slow alot of the time, for a phone with 1GHZ processor, was dissapointing. Now though, with froyo and lag fix applied, it is a completely different handset, very fast, stable and works very well. It's a shame that samsung couldn't have sorted out the lag issue, as they are crippling a very powerful device. Thankfully, with a bit of work and info from xda devs, it is running very sweet indeed. In fact a friend of mine, who is a die-hard apple fan, bought a galaxy even though he had an iphone 4. After a couple of months owning it, and with it running right, he's now sold the iphone! Not bad considering he's owned eevry iphone from the first model!

It's a shame cos for the average consumer who has no idea how to fix issues themselves end up selling things and being let down. If Samsung could have fixed it in a simple update then most people would be happy. 5 million is a good figure but we do not know how many return or sell them on.

Very impressed with this web browser. It's so quick. Love the font styles too.

I've been through several fw's now on 2.1, got the latest "leaked" 2.2, which is rumoured to be the final release end of the month. Very stable, a bit quicker and some nice extra touches in th UI. Have applied a lag fix which more than doubles speed of the device. Rooted as well, dumped the stock Touchwhizz front end for Launcher Pro, which works very well, even allows landscape homescreen. Is a great device out of the box, nice to mod with plenty of options too. Very impressed still, and had mine since July (which is a long time for me to have a phone and not get bored of it!).

Couple of things you can do. A. Turn your 3g off. B. Set your brightness settings to AUTO. That will enable the phone to regulate the brightness as and when needed, hence seving the battery. C. Go to android market and get advanced task killer. Sometimes when you close and app it doesnt entirely close. It may be ended according to the built in manager but it can still run even tho the built on manager says its close. If you have opened a few apps, say the web browser, and the music player, they both use quite a bit of battery and ram.

I wouldn't advise turning Auto brightness on as what that does is use more CPU cycles to tell the display to darker or lighter especialy if you keep on changing positions or environments, rather set the display to around 35% and you should be fine.
