Guys,
Sometimes the screen does not go dark using manual shutter scene + flash.
It seems to depend on how you are adjusting the EV value first.
It seems (but i am not 100% sure) like the manual shutter speed control is not registering until you do some adjusting of the EV values first, and this maybe why the screen is going dark.
For this shot i switched to manual shutter scene, then adjusted the EV down to -1.0, then back up to +.7, with forced flash on, and the screen did not go dark, and took a great shot.
Try this, and see if you get same results.
UPDATE: Yup, its confirmed..every time I adjust the shutter speed down, then back up to make sure the shutter speed is registering first, the screen does not go dark when flash is on, and works as designed.
Also, with slow shutter, sometimes you have to point the camera at a light source first to get the proper white balance, or your pics will come out very yellow like the ones Trojan posted.

@trojan
ok, i see what you are doing now. but the screen only seems to go dark when its set to Forced Flash, when set to AUTO flash, i can set to manual shutter scene, then close the camera.. then open it, and change the EV values to make sure the shutter speed registers, and it works no problem.
Also, if you start the camera with shutter speed scene, and it goes dark, just change it to auto scene, then go back to shutter speed scene and go through the steps of changing the EV values, and it works fine.
Witchking has really implemented a lot of features with this driver, and it seems to be really difficult for all of them to play nicely every time.
But there are ways around this bug, its not a very big deal really. You just need to play with the settings, and you can get what you want every time.

I was just out and took a bunch of indoor shots using the shutter speed scene.
I did not have a problem with the screen going dark, but I did have a lot of issues with flash shots using manual shutter speed turning out very yellow just like Trojan's pics on the previous page.
I am not sure what is happening or if this is a bug or not, or if its just the combination of too much light + shutter speed combination. |

i think i found a bug in video recording... it can be just a coincidence, i dont really know...
I recorded a video with more than 8 min in night mode (400x240) and after i spot recording and saving the video, i close the lens cover and my phone restarded...
Some one has the same issue?
i think all the rest of this driver is really cool...
Shuter-speed is working really fine...
thanks witchking

@witchking
Thank you again for your great work.
One request though.
Can you replace the regular VIDEO recording mode (320x240) with Resolution CIF [352 x 288]?
so we then have the choice between 352x288 or 400x240?
I don't see the need to even record in 320x240 anymore really..
what do you guys think?
thanks!

Hi,
I am keen to use the CBE v6.5. However, I always encountered "Wrong IP" whenever I want to download.
Please advise what should I do. Thanks.

@jake20
I shall do that!
However, most users (including me) often use VideoDJ for editing or trimming videos, which is available for QVGA only.
So i shall make six versions of the next camdriver.
High and Low buffer categories in which we'll have subcategories according to video resolution (QVGA & CIF, CIF & WQVGA, QVGA & WQVGA)
That shall work well i hope
