The speed is good (tried it with transitions and its still frustratingly slow!) as mentioned previously what i love is going to task manager and seeing how many applications are open and still having 50ishmb left...its a nice change when comparing it to the days where i had to constantly go to task manager to close applications down....active sync has been running for the entire day with no problems (although the bat is being drained...but that could be because i have been constantly playing with it!)
@Caspa
with regards to what i got in the box, i am sure its the same as everyone else:
A pouch
Headphones
USB Cable
Charger (UK)
An extra Stylist
Some sort of VIP card
And the PC Suit software
The CD does NOT contain any isync plugin (which is a shame) however it can be found on the net...the CD contains the PC suit and some sort of photo program from Adobe and i think i saw the music software that ships with most SE to transfer music to the phone...
with regards to details of my phone I got:
CDA162024/54 R2A
if anyone wants me to recored a small video showing the menu speeds etc just say and i will try and sort it out later on today...
Called up Fone Shop for those wanting to order the phone (who said they would get some stock in today) and they said they would get some stock in on monday...

Are there any reliable US online stores which are selling the P1i.
If there are any could you please inform.
Thnx.
In the US, I ordered mine from http://www.cti-miami.com ($584.99). The package will arrive Monday, they are a reputable seller in New York, and have a toll-free number you can call them directly on.
On a different note, has anyone tried the HBH-DS970 headphones with their P1? Is the volume any louder (compared to the P990/M600) when playing music? How about the new HBH-DS220 headphones?
Thanks

@qaz7d0 Can you confirm that the singapore version comes with Simplified Chinese input?
Can you give us your CDA version details?
No simplified Chinese input. CDA is CDA162024/87 R1A. The Exchange ActiveSync installer is present in the phone (oddly named just eas.sis when you view under Control Panel > Others > Install), works just like the P990i version.
My Wifi connection is intermittent, I'm hoping that's because of my home router and nothing to do with the P1i...
BTW, anyone knows how to change the shortcut buttons? Would like to change the "More Applications" link to something more useful...

if you mean the 15 buttons on the button of the screen:
1. Select the shortcut you would like to change with the jog dial
2. Click More
3. Click Replace
4. Select the shortcut you want |

I got the same as you for the GPS.
Thanks for the link!
Are you still charging your phone, or are you done?
Iīm done charging and has begun to set it up. It was a lucky day, I work in a Telia store and the P1i arrived the same day as the 4Gb memroy stick micro and when I arrived at home there was a package with my overlay plus. ) |

Lucky you.
I decided yesterday to buy the phone, so I havenīt been thinking of a screen protector, but know I have ordered one.
About charging. Since you work in a mobile phone store, you MUST know how long to charge the first time. Do you recommend 12-16 hours as in the past?
Mine has now been charging for 4.5 hours. |

Can you use the phone while it is charging ?
It would kill me having to wait that long while I'm waiting for it to charge.. |

I have always received the tracking number around 17.00-18.00 the day after placing the order. it was the same this time too.
if its past that time and you have not received a tracking number then send them a message as they are very good at replying
Thanks.. I have now received the tracking number.. Now I've just got to wait for it to come from Hong Kong - I wonder how long that will take to the UK ! |

Simply charge until full... I'd then let it run completely flat and charge again, do this cycle three times... |

Hi everyone... Till today I used to thought that P910 was the best looking phone in the P-Series... But today I saw P1 in actual life and I must say that it is in fact the best looking P-Series phone till date... It was just too sleek and sexy...
Now I am thinking whether I should just sell my P990 and get the P1... The P1 is available at a very good price, i.e., Rs 22,500 ($550) with bill... The only thing stopping me is that I purchased the P990 at a lot more and now is having very very low resale price...
Any suggestions would be welcomed... |

Everybody says different about the charging. To the customers I say 12-15 hours first charge, and no new charge before itīs empty again.
I canīt ever wait so long, so I charge it full and then I try not to charge until the battery is empty. |

You donīt live as you teach.
But I do understand you.
Any special instructions to apply the Screen Protector?
I have tried before with P900i and P910i but failed. Couldnīt get rid of all the dust.
This time I wonīt remove the plastic from the screen, until I get my Screen Protector.
