Nokia N73 vs SE K800i which is better? |

My two penneth.
I have had symbian phones and Sony Ericsson phones for many years and when symbian works well in a phone it is superb. Deducting 2 out of 5 because a phone cant stay stable is reasonable as far as I am concerned and hence my decision to choose and remain with the K800i.
Its a phone and an excellent camera with a good stable music/media player. The phone is simple and quick in terms of its menu structure. It makes and receives calls without an issue and has excellent battery life when in 2g mode.
Its only pitfall is that it doesnt have an operating system like the N73... but again I ask myself - whats the point of having an expandable and versatile operating system installed if its only going to cut off calls and cause the phone to shut down occasionally and run slow once I start installing programs that I want to utilise?
I really wished that the N73, or even the Tytn or P990, could beat my k800i. For reliability, portability, durability, battery life, simplicity the K800i takes it. For expandability the k800i loses its crown.
Best Regards!

Youre very welcome....
I am still looking for something to beat the k800i and am willing to pay top dollar for it!
I am bored on my k800i but wont let it go until I can get something as reliable and where all the features work like they are supposed to - as they do on my k800i.
Regards - have a good "debate" folks!

Hey, I'm still totally happy with my w810.
Could use a bigger memory card though i will admit.
Either way...

those saying n73 is unstable is obviously have an obsoleted info. N73 has become very stable since the first firmware update. Even the K800 was unstable on first release.
And n73 dont even have trouble playing CIF video let alone QVGA ones.
It boils down to your personal preference. Get normal phone functions for lesser price (K800) or smartphones capability for slightly higher price (N73). |

I'm happy to try out an N73 and admit it if my viewpoint is out of date.... I'm going to get some cash together by selling my silver 8800 and see what the new firmware N73 is all about.

Perhaps the answer is simple - the two devices dont really compare. If you want a camera in a phone go for the K800i. If you want a phone with smartphone possibilities(!?!) the N73 is the answer.
Whilst there are not really enough differences to go from one to the other, the differences that do exist are what makes us individual when we choose our device.
I will try the N73 - if someone wants to swap an unlocked one for my stainless steel 8800 then I am game!
- but I wont give up my k800i.... not until I am satisfied that the differences are enough for ME...

I think the differences between the two are OBVIOUS...its wheather you want a smartphone or a simple phone... |

But to call an N73 a smartphone is wrong and to call a K800i a simple phone would be wrong - the reasons given above detail why this is so.
Both are good devices, both are apparently stable, both have advantages/disadvantages over one another so the decision making factor has to be personal preference as opposed to technology.
I am a perfect example of such pickiness: I dont do clamshell or slider phones; I wont accept a camera phone without a lense cover; I hate the " " (space button) on the Nokia. These are not failings but simply personal choices.
Perhaps these sort of topics should be closed once they hit 25 pages as quite clearly the "k800i or N73, which is better" question has not found a result.
Kind Regards. |

marcclifton.. i just want to mark your opinion.. that is such a wise decision to say such things and you hit right on the spot since your first appearance yet it does not rise any anger on both sides (nokia and SE fanboys). hmm.. you must be a very interesting person..
After all this topic is just for those ppl who want to battle with their phones to prove that they've made the right choice, although this will go nowhere, it is indeed a good alternative for ppl to express their feeling and do whatever they want to win (because in the worst scenario, it will not lead to any physical activity or sthing like that, it will just be a word fight between the two sides). It is a good fun... |

guys ive read through some of the thread but i still need this info:
if whats important to me is just the photo quality. which one would you get? the K800 or N73?
consideration:
a) photo quality
b) is k800 really much better if you have shaky hands? (with the image stabilizer of cybershot?)

N73 would be better for images , also the n73 has image stabalizer function same as k800i , the N73 can do everything the k800i can do and does alot more , but its a smartphone and can be a bit slower than normal phones at times.
