If TomTom wanted you to evaluate it they most certainly will have released a evaluation version for you.

Okay.. on the installation can someone please help...

I've read this thread a few times but frustration kicks in as i cant even get started..!

I'm trying to instal fatreg TT files onto my M600

first question which maybe so obvious to most, what is the root directory of the memory card? correct me if i'm wrong but i assume it's within the main memory card folder e.g. not the sub folders. this is were i copied the 'contents' of (not the whole folder) labelled 'copy 2 card directory', i even extracted the files from the sub folders and copied them into the memory card (root), using a memory card reader.

All the files show when i put the card back into the phone but there is no prompt at all to install tom tom, searching thro' the files i find one '
'tt navigator' and when opened it gives me the oppurtunity to intall, but nothing happens..

Would very much appreciate some help, or is the DVD version easier to install? i ordered a M2 memory card reader form ebay, took a week to get here but i'm no further on..

you should have kept the subfolders as they were. if you moved all the files, including the ones in the subfolders, into the root, it will not work.
when you copy the content of that folder, just select all and drag them over you MS card. it will ask if you wanna continue since some of the subfolders already exist on the MS.
Did yo uknow you could switch your phone to a mass storage by going to the USB settings and select file transfer? In this case you won't need any additional card readers. [addsig]

your best off running CMD and getting to get to the app and let it run that way..

ill post some better instructions in a bit..

1)make a folder in C:\\\\ to make it easier, name it keygen.
2)Put your .mid file in there and the TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe in there.
3)Now open command prompt "Start-Programs-Accessories-command prompt
4)Then type as follows cd (space) C:\\\\ (Press Enter)
5)now you will have C:\\\\> in command prompt.
6)Then type: cd (space) keygen (Press Enter) You will then see c:\\\\keygen>
7) Then type : TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe (space) Guam.mid (Press Enter).
then put in your code ID: (CAPS ON) and then (Press Enter).
9) you get your activation code.

Could you please clarify item 2.. which is your .mid file? i should be ok with the rest of it!

The .mid file is the one that looks like a media file.

the .mid file is the one you will find in the map folder, having the same name as the map and the folder name .
This file does not have to be renamed to be Guam.mid, but make sure than when you run the reg program, you use the exact name of this file.

My question is simply, were do you put the file on the memory card? The above file is a .tgz file? I tried putting it in the root and then in the tom tom file but i'm unable to select any in the settings?

It's easy when you know how..

You need to expand the compressed file first to extract the actual files you want out of it.

place the voice files in the folder called TomTom, using the phone switched to File transfer, or by using another card reader. [addsig]

i've downloaded the above files again.. unzipped it and extracted the files, i then placec the files in the tom tom file on the memory card..

I then open tom tom on the m600 and go to 'change preferences' then the option 'change voice' but then unable to select anything the select a voice page is doisplayed with a handfull of voices to select (about not the ones i'v just put in the tom tom file. the message 'install from CD or download from tomtom.com' is displayed.. i cant select anything! all i get is message 'you did not select a usable voice' ?

Any idea what i'v done wrong?

I transfered the extracted files (2 folders, the celebrity and standard folders) into the tom tom folder on the MC.

No guarantee that it will work - the W950i memory is seen as a mass storage device and from reading through this it seesm that tomtom will only install onto a memory card. Which of course is useless for the 950.

I'd like to know if you do succeed, though I have little confidence that you will.
