completely agree with that!
Children from all faiths and backgrounds have to be raised in a way to respect each others religions if we are to have a better and peacefull world for them.

We need to bring kids up in a world where they feel they can express an opinion without the threat of being killed for it!

absinthebri: You have a point but the fact of the matter is that their are certain things in this world you just do not say or do,some lines should'nt be crossed and thats the harsh reality.

I know I have a point. I also live in the 21st century. Do you think we ought to stone people who say the world wasn't created in 6 days or isn't that offensive enough for you? Who decides? Am I allowed to say that God doesn't exist?
Or is it only CARTOONS that carry a death sentence?

In an ideal world all the things you have mentioned would be good i would be the first to welcome it...but thats what im tryng to say to you that we don't unfortunately live in such a world, now we can all fight and argue about what can and can't say till the end of time, but at the end of the time we have to find some common ground,a compromise if you like...after all we all have to live together on this one planet for now..until space travel advances and then people from different faiths can find their own planets! .

Incited by al-Qaida and Taliban?
Senior Afghan officials said al-Qaida and the Taliban could be exploiting anger over the cartoons to incite violence.
Provincial governor Mohammed Latif said he suspected al-Qaida may have had a hand in the unrest. He said two men from eastern Afghanistan were arrested during the protest and were being interrogated.
“The violence today looked like a massive uprising. It was very unusual,” Latif said

The compromise is, when I say what I want, you get to disagree with me. That for every position I take, you get to take an opposing position, should you choose to do so.
Some people would rather just their view prevailed.
We're not really disagreeing here; we're in completely different conversations.

Yes maybe, but anyway this is the problem that is causing so much death and distruction because both sides are failing to understand each other.

I fully understand the other side. What I'm saying is I have a RIGHT NOT TO. I'm not trying to impose my values on to anyone; you are FREE to express any opinion you wish. You are free to be offended. You are free never to buy another Danish pastry in your life.
Death and distruction are caused by murdering thugs, not by holding a point of view.

I do agree with you aswell, but my point is political correctness is important for the sake of Harmony and Peace.
I actually like danish pastry's!
Why give murdering thugs an excuse to cause mayhem all because you are practicing your right to say what you want?....\"Freedom of Speech\" is paramount and i more than most have always stood up for it when many were offended by remarks against America/Bush ect...

I don't. Being offensive is NOT, and never can be, an 'excuse' for murder.
Murdering thugs are responsible for the actions of murdering thugs.
