in a youtube video, already low quality, it's impossible to say what bitrate is being used on the video - if it was low then it's quite possible the video could be very smooth.
The real question is: what highest video bitrate is supported by X1 while still being smooth to watch.

Haven't you noticed there is a lot of buzz more than usual, in the past couple of weeks?
Contradictory or else does't matter, it means something is stirring up. Couple that with the new video ad...
I'm exited I smell somthing good soon. |

@max_wedge:
The point I was making was that the graphics we see in the X1 commercial look like they were superimposed onto the X1 as opposed to us seeing the graphics of the X1 directly (this practice is probably typical). Not only do the graphics look superimposed, they look unrealistically smooth and fast. My question is how do the actual graphics of the final production model actually look ? (a rhetorical question actually )
As for it's highest video bitrate supported, X1 is supposed to be able to playback h.264, VGA @ 30 fps @ 2mbps bitrate. |

@whybe, sorry, I realised that's what you meant, and you are right it looks superimposed, but I was simply adding the point that regardless whether it is or not, youtube will not be a viable medium for demonstrating the X1 performance even if it wasn't superimposed.

O.K., I understand what you're saying and agree. |

Vodafone have confirmed the X1 release on 5th October. Not that I'll be getting it from Vodafone with all of the branding they slap on it. But hopefully the other networks won't be far behind. |

I think I am going to find a Vodafone business store and check out how badly they have crippled the HTC touch Pro when it is available, just to see what we can expect from the X1 from Vodafone (I have an upgrade due!) when it is finaly set loose upon an unsuspecting users base. But why stock both the Touch Pro and the X1?
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

Forgive my lack of brains. Do Vodafone brand Windows devices as well?
X1 has had enough software problems as it is without the Vodagroan branding weighing it down.
I also hate videos like that youtube one on the previous page. What is the point of basically lying to the consumer? It looks SOOO fake. It will never run that fast or smooth. Just like the G900 promos, showing the phone run faster and smoother than a Desktop PC

Vodafone would "brand" their own employees and their children if the opportunity arose.

I'm not sure if they would brand the software, or whether it's possible to brand Microsoft software in such a way. I would imagine they would find a way.
But even if they couldn't, rest assured they would plant a load of logos over the phone - and that's something I certainly wouldn't want. lol |

I think they would probably install a vodafone panel on the menu, and a horrendous voda logo on the exterior..
