The new tablet looks amazing! Much thinner with aluminium body, stronger battery, and same weight. Will feel good in hands... The only thing what I'm worried about is the screen. Hope, they use not the same panel... If yes, they needed to put a FullHD screen at least... |

So any update on LT29 and LT30 where will these will be available ? AFAIH LT29 ( International Hayabosa ) will be international without LTE, LT30 Mint will be only for LTE enabled markets like USA, some Asian markets...

I think the tablet display will be brighter, as there will be more LEDs installed on these displays. if they could at least get the contrast ratio that the Bravia TVs have, then from there Sony can proudly advertise the Xperia Tablets as having true Bravia TV quality. I think Sony can put 120Hz refresh rates on these LCDs, that'll be awesome!

A very, very nice looking tablet! This and the quad-core, water/shock/dust resistant Xperia phone will be a lovely combo for me.
I like it a lot!

If I was looking at Android tablets that would be top of my list.
But unfortunately I still feel that they are a bit useless and am awaiting the Sony Windows 8 tablet plans.
Some cool features though, despite there being a 64GB version it looks like the SD card slot is remaining, and the IR port with the macro function I had seen wanted from plenty of people. Looks like Walkman technology is being implemented as well. Would be an amazing portable entertainment device but I'm looking for a replacement for a laptop as well as ease of use and an Android tablet just wouldn't fit the bill.
randomuser, was this the only tablet expected or were there others? (Only tablet I was interested in was the Tablet P but that is a truly niche device) |

one of the slides really shows off what sony tablets are all about (dont know which number but the one with the comparative yes/no charts)...the other android tablets out there simply do not have the entertainment network that sony has and they should heavily invest in to compete with itunes. An android tablet that can't listen to new songs, download videos or ebooks is essentially useless...that why i think android has failed in the tablet space...until now...
sony's offering will be awesome...it will have everything it needs to compete with itunes matched with a design that is the best out there bar none. tablet s design is amazing, all it needed was a spec boost which i hope tegra3 will be able to hold up...now all i need to know is what windows 8 offering sony has up their sleeve so i can freaking choose and xperia tablet or a vaio tablet! |

The annoying thing is that Sony don't integrate their technologies into Windows PCs (whether they can't, or are worried about it being hacked and put onto other PCs isn't quite known)
If they announced a Windows 8 tablet with the iR port, Walkman audio equipment, Bravia engine etc I'd probably camp out at the Sony store until they release. Instead the only advantage they have over other products is the design.
That has changed a little as of late with the new L Series VAIO having a Reality Engine built in as well as the appearance of audio enhancement technologies for the loudspeakers but I'm hoping for a little more than that.
I think it would be awesome if they could dual-boot Android as well but that is incredibly unlikely. |

Well a Windows based tablet seems to be on the way from Sony, so maybe it'll fulfill your wishes. I will say this, if the Windows tablet is anything like this one, then I'm probably going to have a hard time deciding which one to get.
I'd also like to say congrats to Sony on the accessory front! My biggest gripe with the Tablet S was the puny selection of accessories, and their generic nature. The accessories we're seeing here look amazing! And these are only launch items, we'll likely see more stuff down the road.

@Indiandawg that isn't actually Jelly Bean but rather a few JB apps ported to ICS to give the appearance of JB.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |
