He says Sony dual cam has one sensor of 40MP, just like P20 Pro.
User ONITSUKA_8M posted that on weibo.

40MP ( 1/2.2" , 0.9 micron)

I think calculation is wrong. Difference between 1/2.3" and 1/2.2" is pretty tiny.
40MP with 1/2.3" would be close to 0.65 micron.
No way it can be 0.9.

Also CPU cant support 40MP.

Oh by the way, DxOMark scores P20 Pro an extraordinary 109.

P20 Pro has 40 MP 1/1.73" sensor.

Alvin, did you notice that every phone which review comes minutes after the announcement has high score?

Very curious fact ...

Even more curious is when you check GSMArena photo tool, samples of Mate 10, Iphone X and Pixel 2 are shitty.
Note 8 and XZ1 have better samples there for ISO and Good Lighting.

Yes, but how much money did they pay to get that score.

What is the area value for 1/2.2"?
Must be no.more than 31mm2.

An old sensor called imx204 has 20MP and 1/1.7". Pixels are 1.44.
If it was 40MP the pixels would be half, 0.7 micron.
So a smaller sensor with same 40MP, cant have almost 0.9.

so 1/1,7 inch sensor with ois and f1.8 aperture can be achieved inside slim body.

Pretty awesome that the P20 Pro manages to have three sensors on the back and one on the front yet still have such a slim profile. Whether you like the notch or not, they cram a lot into that body and make it look very sleek indeed.

As for the XZ2 Premium, its better that they keep the resolution lower and make sure that the software is better because that will make the camera feel like new.

I sacrifice thickness for better battery life (in a flat back, not like ancient flow design though )

^ Technically, Huawei is the one who learned from Sony, since Sony is the first one to launch such type of sensor that has big ISO. Don't forget the super slo-mo, too.

Yes but look how sleek P20 is even with 3 cameras, and look at XZ2 bullshit...
