being able to stream live from either of your phones cameras is something that you cannot do with the X10, but yea the UX is pretty snappy and fun to use, its also much cleaner than sense. but it will also have some drawbacks the BQ of HTC phones is pretty good, i like a good solid feeling phone but at that size i want MUCH higher resolution screen 1024x768 or higher. that res is suitable for 3.5" screen but 4.3" needs the higher density. OLED would be beneficial at that size and res as well, they should contract samsung. also at that significant size i need a keyboard. its imperative. so heres to the evo4g pro and the SEXXX (SonyEricsson X20 Pro)

just talked to an AT&T customer service rep and he said he wasn't aware of the X10 coming in the pipeline anytime soon. But he did say they were looking to expand their Sony Ericsson offering. Don't know what that means, but it looks like I can't wait around for AT&T to subsidize it.

Good thing is, he offered me an early upgrade. I may take him up on that offer, sell it, and use it toward an unlocked X10

18 and 24 month contracts with good phone prices? I wish! Here in Canada it's all 3yr contracts if you want a subsidized price on a phone. On a 2yr contract you get a whole $50 off a $500 phone if you're lucky.

I used to think hardware keyboards were the way to go, but so many of the ones I've tried feel like crap, are hard to type on or whatever (look at the Droid). So unless the hardware KB is really well done, I can take a pure screen slab without reservations. At least the on-screen KB can be changed via software.

854x480 (or even 800x480) is pretty high-res for such a small screen. Something like 240ppi on the X10's 4" screen if I calculated right. 1024x768 is a 4x3 aspect ratio, which isn't the best for a phone design (tall and thin). Sure higher would be great, but these resolutions are top of the line these days. Look at the iPad, which runs 1024x768 @ 9" (or is it 10"). AMOLED or Super-AMOLED would definitely be welcome though.

Yea the n900 i have is 265ppi 800x480@3.5" which is PHENOMENAL!!! but yea the iPhad is worthless its ppi is like ~160ppi which is just as worthless as the iPhone ... so im not a fan of that resolution on such a large screen, it betrays the density when they say its hidef and 854*480 is 16:9, which is taller than 4:3 which is why the SEXX is so tall! so it would really just be a denser pixelpack for better viewing of HD content. crisper text and more information on the whole. the size range of content would be MUCH MUCH wider. i cant wait till these devices support different resolutions so you can pick your own. but yea id like to see a wider range of tech included in these devices. id like to see eMMC jump up to 128GB and sdxc slots, and radio amp controls for battery savings. get me some TIOMAP4 (A9) tech which should be coming next year around this time. im not a huge fan of snapdragon anymore as its an app processor, which has to handle all DSP with one chip. its clocked higher than the A8 but the A8 has a sound and graphics dsp which offload a lot of instructions from the main cpu.

The new swedish magazine "everything about android" have reviewd X10 and gives it 90%. so quite good test and phone.

Do you have a link?

No, read the review in a paper magazine, not on the internet. But same people who gives out the magazine mobil from mobil.se who made the everything about adriod, maybe a review will come up on mobil.se sometimes.

Review of endgadget, stated that x10 face several issue, include keyboard, etc.
But if you checked again the site, you will find this article

Note: Sony Ericsson contacted us shortly after the review was published to let us know that this particular X10 is running pre-production firmware, which may account for some of the issues we had with keyboard performance and occasional sluggishness.

Yeah, most of the other hands-on and reviews I've seen specifically stated that the model they were reviewing was a pre-production unit.

No, you blame Sony Ericsson for sending out review units with faulty software. Engadget reviewed the X10 with the software that was on it. Blame falls squarely on Sony Ericsson's shoulders. Pre-production software or not, if you send out a review unit to a site that logs tens of thousands of hits everyday and that unit has issues, well then its YFF (your f*cking fault), your = Sony Ericsson.

Which leads me to another question. The X10 has been in development for sometime, why are there still issues like these this late in the development cycle?

Why is SE sending devices with pre-production software for reviews anyway? To Engadget no less? They may not be perfect but they have a massive reader base. If it's not ready, don't send it. We've already been waiting 10 months.

Stupid move!

They spend months perfecting the device then some pan-lid sends out a pre production example to one of the biggest tech sites on the net?!

Still, they were quick enough to act to put it right I guess.

and the seemingly legit ebay sellers (i.e. those with considerably high feedback) are posting their stock now....

there's some who are in the US too! too bad they're selling the international model and not the north american one...

The good news is this is a great sign that the X10 is making its way to market. The X10a should be following soon! Here's hoping for the white X10a!!
