Maybe this 'old' rumour of october release (dunno where it came from.. M-R?) is fake as the previous example. Anyway, I have seen it, and I love the device. Cams were not allowed, neither (cam)phones, PDA`s or other electronica near the device. Security is very tight this year.... 
ps. What I do know, and forgot to mention in my post above, that  was talking about announcing the Cybershot© K850 before CeBit. [Before the 15th of March]. And they were talking about announcing it 'alone' so with no other phones.. this isn`t for sure, but it`s some info though!

Thanks for the info.
Well it is their flagship imaging device so it would make sense and it would certainly be a show stopper, especially when everyone else off-loaded there big announcements at 3GSM.

Yes indeed! That were exactly my thoughs when I was driving back home. Samsung with the F700, Moto with the new RAZRs, SLVRs and so on, Nokia with the N95, E90, N77 and LG with the Shine, and new Chocolate`s. So is will climm further to the 3rd biggest company they have to announce K850i this quarter! :)

It doesn't have optical zoom!
I have a strong feeling that it do have Optical zoom, maybe like Sony's T1 cybershot...
Stef, are you 100% sure that SOFIA doesn't have optical zoom? |

When you mention optical zoom, do you mean a fixed optical zoom like that Sharp phone with a fixed 3x zoom? Or one of those move able optical zoom? |

If you read well, you can see i`ve handled a prototype!! And in this proto there wasn`t any lens at all. Only a back of the phone saying it has a 5 megapixel camera.
You can compare it to the back of a silver K800, with no batterypack, no cam, no flash, no mirror and no speakers.. sounds nice right!?

I noticed you said 'no speakers'. Are indicating that there is more than one speaker or is that just a slip of the tongue/fingers
