JUst checked my online bank statement and Pixmania have just taken £525 out my account yesterday. I doubt a big company like this would charge my account without having the phone in stock or at least have it soon.
anyone else got pre-orders with pixmania or had dealings with them in the past? |

I have a hook-up in Hong Kong and have been checking the SE HK site every day for the last month and it has always said 'coming soon'. Last night I got several 404's on the P990 pages, and this morning the 'coming soon' is gone! I have contacted my guy, tho it is 2am there, and coincidentally have a trip to China end of this week so can be road-testing it for road warriors next week, with any luck and assuming SE is not f*ing with me yet again on when this thing comes out...
Any US people looking to be an early-adopter let me know: info at p-d-r-o-p-.-c-o-m (with the @ and without the dashes) and I can let you know if I am able to get a few extra and at what price.

Yes - Pixmania charge your card at the time of order - it is stated in their T&C's that they do it for "security reasons".
I guess they can only get away with the practice because they are France based rather than in the UK where charging for goods you don't actually have is technically illegal.
To be honest I think it more than a little out of order to charge for an item which you are not even going to be getting into stock for another month. |

I pay £75 per month but get 1000 minutes inclusive a month and I use every one of them!

That's still a lot of money... If I pay around 75$ (not £!) a month I get free everything... SMS, MMS and to all networks at all time.

My guess is its a network issue it's not even mentioned on the vodafone.co.uk site yet Vodafone told me today they think it will be August 23rd but CANNOT guarentee this and have no idea of prices yet! My money is still on a September retail release date at the very earliest I can only hope hope I am wrong

I've been avoiding these pages as its just so repetitive
but... I just spoke with the manager of the local CPW who hasn't let me down yet and he said that CPW will be launching the M990 (and M600) ni September.
I also spoke to vodafone new sales and also vodafone upgrades and they have 21st August as their launch date and have zero stock, including what is visible as arriving in the next week... not that I would buy a branded one but I saw someone else here mentioned vodafnoe so I thought I'd check just out of interest.
I'm a bit ho hum about it all now and wondering why I would want much the same as I already have in the M600 but in a much bigger package.
I expect though, that I'll get drawn in when they are available, as usual...

Hi masseur you seem pretty adamant that you wil not get a branded phone, my P910i has minimal branding from Vodafone do you get better functions with a SIM free device? or is it just the idea of getting a "virgin" device (Genuine question)

I briefly had a vodafone P910 but sent it back.
basically, I simply don't want other people to make assumptions about how I am going to use my device. Also I don't just use vodafone's service, also I want to be able to update my phone if/when firmware updates become available should I have some issue that is resolved by that update. I don't want to have to wait for the branded update and I don't want to be forced to use 3rd party debranding/updating services.
basically I want my phones to be the way they were generically designed and I'm happy to pay more for that

I never buy phones that some telephone company has tampered with. I don't like it. It should be with the s/w that the producer SE downloaded to it and unlocked ready to use any network!

http://www.scancom.co.uk have stocks coming on Friday and I spoke to their Orange sales manager (ask for her by name "Bhavesha") and they currently estimating they will have 50 units unallocated. So call them on (UK) 08700 110210. All the P990s are for Orange business and personal contracts (UK only). I also believe this first batch are not Orange branded. Good Luck.

Jah, thanks for posting this. l will give them a call tomorrow and see what they say, hopefully i will have the phone by Monday. Did they confirm to you the first batch will be unbranded? Really don't want the orange homescreen icons on it. If it is branded then i will cancel and get an o2 contract. If o2 offered a flatrate 3g data tariff, that would be perfect for me.

where the device dont wake up causing the alarm not to go off which is one thing that bugged me with smartphone the unreliability.
Does symbian suffer from this?
