Those who got the Xperia Z1 will love this phone to the max. The feeling on the hand together with its buttery smooth UI is so damn good. I think, the metal frame and its rounded (similar to the new Bravia) are the one that make the phone feel so much better.

i wouldn't get your hopes up with kitkat guys. Nexus 5 isn't even out yet (should be out end of this month) and nexus devices usually enjoy a few months of exclusivity before new versions of android roll out to non-google devices. Kitkat releasing on the Z1 next month seems too soon to me. at the earliest, i would guess january/february.
MNX - nice. i was thinking about getting an MHL adapter but i was thinking.. how often am i going to hook my phone up to my TV in that way? I think having a mirrorcast would be more beneficial, at least for me. i guess the MHL would be nice if i did a lot of traveling.. but that's not me.. sadly

Sony indeed has NOT released this one (even though you CAN make one if you disemble the dock)

Hope you guys can find this somewhere else, remember the square-thing on the connecting part. its made by You hang. This one you caan TILT THE DEVICE with it slowly if you be careful. I tested myself and have bought 3 of these cords made by You Hang in SHenzhen China. best magnetic powder I have found today!

@moogoo From what I read Miracast actually uses your existing wifi network, which would actually slow down your internet connection. That's why I opt for the MHL adapter. I do download a lot of videos onto my phone, and transferring them to my computer to watch on a slightly larger screen is annoying. Hooking up my laptop, which is in my room, to my TV in the living room after transferring the file is even more of a pain.
Concerning Kitkat, I don't know, there's a good chance that it actually might happen. Google actually changed their policy and released early builds to manufacturer months before announcement now. The delays of newer Android version is actually in the hands of the manufacturer versus Nexus device having exclusivity.

@MNX - in regards to kitkat, interesting. of course i welcome it if it does come sooner
and yes, mirrorcast uses your home wifi network, but so what? unless you are doing massive data transfers all the time on your wifi network (and i mean massive), there should be plenty of bandwidth to stream 1080p HD video from your phone to your TV, since it's local network transfer.

Regarding mirrorcast I have the 55" Sony W9 Triluminos TV and the NFC wand to activate the mirrorcast is faultless one simple touch to activate and there is barely any noticeable lag when going through the screens. I don't have the fastest internet connection either max upto 10meg but as Moogoo said you don't need much to use this function.

Xperiajunkie - Thanks for the feedback and I am jealous you have a W9!
just to be clear for anyone reading, mirrorcast uses your LOCAL wifi. it has nothing to do with your internet connection. As long as your wifi router is working and your LOCAL network is up and running, you should be able to use mirrorcast. Your internet connection can be down and you'll still be able to use mirrorcast. Since it is local wifi being used, the speed is much greater than your internet connection. Depending on the protocol your router is using (802.11x where x is a, b, c, g, n, etc.. where most people have at least b) you'll get speeds anywhere from 11mbps to 150mbps (802.11n with minimum speed of 15mbps). this is plenty of bandwidth to stream 1080p unless you are doing massive local network data transfers over wifi (e.g., moving 50gigs of data). then there will be some lag.

The W9 Bravia is very nice due to the triluminous display, but W8 is not bad either even though the display is not triluminous and you can throw anything to the TV faultlessly. @Moogoo is right, the connection in your local network does not depend on the internet speed but on your router speed/bandwidth.

The reason I mention that miracast may slow down the internet connection is that, on most general consumer routers, internet is funnel down the same data pipeline. If that is congested with what whatever you're doing, then internet will slow down with other data transfer that is happening through the internal network hosted though the router. This was the case when I was looking into using miracast with my Nexus 4, majority of the users in XDA that was using it reported a bog down on their wifi network. During multiple connections that was active, the miracast itself was showing some lagg too. Though this was when the Nexus 4 was just released and lack of any miracast accessories. Though I kind of wish miracast would have used wifi-direct, which creates a direct connection between devices, versus piggy backing off an existing network.
Since XperiaJunkie confirmed that is not the case with the Z1, then it's something I'm definitely going to look into. Not sure how the performance is going to be like if a NAS is through in the loop.
Anyone has any idea when the IM10 is going to be released?
Well, looks like I may have to invest in a new XBR since mine is getting old.
