Is there an option in the camera such as "autofocus assist light" on/off? I remember in my old  Hazel, there was an option like that, so the flash will only light up when the camera focuses, then takes the photo without flash. If not I hope Sony includes it.

@reeflotz nope. no option like that as far as i can tell. so yes, i hope they add it in future updates. i think it's an essential option!

Stupid Clove missed my address confirmation email and now they're shipping my phone tomorrow, which they could've done if they just check their email better!!! At least it gives me time to amass a bunch of accessories,  . Just need to get me a magnetic charging dock and/or cable. |

Finally my QX10 case has been dispatched (its the ACX2 for Smart Lens case) can wait to try it out. Amazon said I might have to wait till December as they full fill back orders but mine should be here any day now woo hoo.

MNX - ha nice. do you know anyone selling the official dock in the states? i haven't been able to find anybody who has it in stock and i can trust to have the official DK31 dock.

i have been thinking about accessories too. I really wish sony sold the EC21 magnetic charging cord by itself. I want to have two (one for home and one for car/travel) but i don't want to buy TWO docks! I might end up getting a generic chinese magnetic adapter, once i've heard some reviews as to how well they fit and work.
Anybody who ordered a chinese magnetic charger have one yet? how does it fit? how well does it work?

^ yea that. but i want the official sony one. That's a chinese generic one. i'm hesitant to get one until i can hear about some reviews on how it fits and charges. i don't want to spend the money and have it not fit properly or not charge properly.

Hi All, since my first post last week I have done the deed and collected Z1 as trade up from S3 (long time Samsung user) and wanted to give some feedback.
Picked it up last Saturday from O2 along with the pre-order offer QX10 lens and once fired up after charging I admit to being disappointed with the screen quality mainly surrounding the yellowish hue when looking at white background (like in settings menu) also later on the screen had locked out with black display for no apparent reason (although very very faint red glow when you looked really close as if being powered on?) did a reset and early next morning it did it again, got it boxed back up and went back to O2.
Main reason I stick with them apart from signal is their customer service and they didnt disappoint when I asked for another one (to be fair they didnt have much choice but thats not the point, they were more than happy to do it, no quibble!) I had no hesitation in asking for another Z1 even after these faults as I really really liked it and even in that short space of time enjoyed the change from Sammy and hoped that no.2 would be fine ...........and I'm pleased to report it is!!!!!:)
This phone is awesome I absolutely love it, colours way better than S more accurate imho and playing back HD source vid....well its freakin excellent (Smurfs demo!!)....its also quicker than my old Scooby Impreza!!!haha....blazingly fast no lag flickin between internet, youtube, apps etc.
Regarding the screen (and my own experience) there is obviously issues with Sony's QC and a lot of people will miss out experiencing this and play safe to stick with Sam's & Apple which is a shame because if you do have a 'good one' then there isnt anything else (for me) to touch it for a whole experience of build quality, performance and visuals and can only see it getting better with future updates.
Just for information my first faulty Z1 had serial number BH903**** and this replacement BH908**** I'd read on another site that there were faulty batches linked with serial numbers, I have no idea if this is correct but just thought I'd share........I'm currently looking for good screen protector now as I dont want to hide all that black shiny loveliness in a leather wallet!!
I'll get some pics posted when I can, taken a few quick daylight snaps so far and really impressed, cheers
