OK guys, more info has leaked in the mobile-review forum.
Hermione uses Symbian 9.1
The device dimensions are as shown, compared with a P910:
http://www.mobile-review.com/[....]tachment.php?attachmentid=5390
Leaked screen dimensions confirm that it must use a 240x320 screen.
The camera is the same as the K750i, and is 2 MP.
Finally, one report indicates that there is a querty keyboard in the phone part of the phone (not flip), at the bottom.
Let's wait and see...

Very disappointed at camera spec of 2 MP. If released early next year, 2 MP camera can not stand out of the crowd. SE should come up with at least 3.2 MP camera. Moreover, Hermoine must have GPS built in
and along with the most advanced Voice Recognition and Command in order to compete with Windows OS phones. If these specs come true, Hermoine will be a killer phone. |

Interesting ideas floating around. I have been almost tempted to buy the Motorola A1000 for its gps feature but aside of that there really are few other outstanding features. Worse it is missing that essential numeric keypad T9 combination.
The amount of time I have saved typing out text with the keypad in SMS T9 mode (to then copy it elsewhere) is really the crux of this machine. For me this is what got me off the Psion 5MX.
If this P1000 is for real I hope we get to keep our little flip keypads (or otherwise have the keypad on some sort of sliding mech. perhaps like the Samsung D500).

That would be cool having a d500 style keypad, and there is no reason why the p100 shouldn't be super thin, like the new moto Q
as I think the P series are a little oversized now.

read on another forum that appparently this is not the p1000 but the p950 which would explain why its not what everyone is expectin, though if money allows i'll snap up both!

I am really beginning to doubt this is the replacement.
It looks more like an additional P series rather than a replacement for the P910i, (maybe a P850i - mid-range, non-touch screen smartphone)
I will be disappointed if this is what we have been waiting for.
The replacement (Hermione) was originally due be announced at CommunicAsia back in June (I think) but this was put back to a September announcement, reputedly because the N series was announced, so why they would release this now, with not a huge improvement upon the P910i doesn't make sense to me.
Me thinks someone is trying hoodwink us!
EDIT: @_LAU_. The 240x320 is not the screen dimensions is it? I thought that 240x320 referred to the resolution.

A couple of notes:
The flip-open picture with a keyboard below the screen is someone's photoshop artwork, and is not real !!! (the image, I mean)
Second, I already stressed this and I repeat again:
THIS IS NOT THE P1000, this is a UMTS version of the P910, and rumors say IT WILL BE CALLED P950.
The P1000 will only be seen in 2006 !
end.
