@funks it's not impossible to send files TO the t68 with the widcomm software. If you look at the profiles in the t68 you see a folder called inbox. This countains you business card,, by drigging files into this folder you can sen them to the t68(i), any kind of files can be sent, the only problm with the software is that it can't receive files

i don't think it's possible to move the \"my bluetooth places\" becasue it is a shell extension and not a folder. Similar to My Computer and My Network Places, they can be hidden, but not moved. The only way to get rid of it is by uninstalling the software, which probably isn't what you had in mind. it might be possible to move it by playing around in the registry, but i wouldn't know how.

That set me thinking so i decided to look it up
see here Specifying A Namespace Extension's Location on the MSDN site. It explains everything.
I've already tried this to move the microsoft outlook icon from the desktop to "My computer" and making the recycle bin appear in my documents. So it is possible.
If you could move it where would you want to move it to?
On the destop (where it is by default)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerDesktopNameSpace{6af09ec9-b429-11d4-a1fb-0090960218cb}
In Network NeighbourhoodMy Network Places
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion
ExplorerNetworkNeighborhoodNameSpace{6af09ec9-b429-11d4-a1fb-0090960218cb}
You can also easily put it anywhere you want by simply creating a new folder and renaming it "My Bluetooth Places.{6af09ec9-b429-11d4-a1fb-0090960218cb}"
Althought this does not seem to work as intended.

i just want to say that this is one enlightening topic...and i certainly did not make a mistake in waiting before buying my own msi bt key...w/c i'll be doing sometime today...
just a query...has anyone tried using/pairing their HBH-30 to an msi BT key? so far only those who have hbh-10 & 15 have tried....and i know the hbh-30 has a different firmware...hbh-15 has additional info where you can view the batt life, change passkey, etc. on the accessories menu on my t68 R2E....but the hbh-30 only shows its firware version and nothing else...i dunno if there's something wrong there....but the headset works just fine so i guess their isn't...
anyway....i would like to throw this query also...if you folks don't mind...theoretical case scenario (unless someone has actually tried it )...would this work using only 1 msi BT or do i need 2??.....using only a single laptop....we attach an HBH-30...surf the 'net via GPRS/DUN...use christenssen's PC App control (say for powerpoint purposes)....and lastly access (send and receive) data on a Palm-based PDA w/ BT connection? Because if it does...then the msi BT is a fantastically very good buy...we just solved the problems of numerous speakers and presenters out there and should patent the idea...hehe...thanks in advance...

Okay guys you are probably sick of these damn questions but guess what? I have a MSI 6967 and I can't get it to work! Now I have read nearly every thread in this topic and I either I am being very thick or I have a hardware fault of some description.
I have installed the latest software off the MSI site (1.2.2.15) and can pair my T68 with the PC no problem. I have set up a bluetooth serial port with COM 4 on my computer. I have tried the mobilet software and the SE XTND software. Neither see my phone except once after about 20 attempts and me messing around I seem to accidentally get Mobilet to work but when I tried again it would not.
I went into the configuration set up and noticed that there are client and a local set ups in which there is the bluetooth serial port as one of the devices you can use. In these two configurations you can allocate a COM port to the bluetooth serial port, however, they have to be different. ie. COM 4 in the client and COM 5 in the local. Is this correct? Does this matter? From my understanding the client is the COM port that connects to your phone and the local is the COM port that connects to your application you are trying to use ie. Mobilet software etc..
A question I would like to know is - When adding new bluetooth place and add a bluetooth serial port (assuming this is the first one you are adding) do you select the same COM port as the client or the local? Or do you select a totally different COM port?
I am going insane as now all I get when I activate a serial port (which incidentally I can do as it gives me a green tick and says paired and connected) and then I check to see if my bluetooth serial port is 'started' it says not started. If I then start it says the following error: 'RFCOMM connection failed'. If I disconnect the serial port and then start it it starts ok. What is all that about?
Can anyone follow what I said or am I talking crap? I really would appreciate some help or ideas as I am going mad with this!!!!! |

It looks like you're almost there. In order for you to run SE XTND software and possibly Mobilet, you need another application called Mobile Phone Monitor MPM( available for download from SE site).
Alternatively, If you don't intend to install MPM, use FMA
Hope it helps |

It's helped a bit thank you....
Ok I am a bit drunk now. I have had to turn to drink! I have got the FMA working.. well sort of. It downloads my stuff but what I want to do is....
Download my contacts from one phone and upload them on another. Is that too much to ask for a poor tax paying fool?
I get the contacts listed from my old t68 when press refresh. Then I connect my new t68i and I want to put them contacts into it! How do I do that. A clever bit of multi phone software but why doesn't it say sonthing like.... Save your phone contacts here.... and then upload your contacts here..... ??
ps. I am more receptive when I am drunk!
