Maybe its something to do with social class, and affordability ?
I could easily afford a S700i, but i dont take very picturesque images because:
1. Where i live is a total dive
2. I cannot justify spending in the region of £400 on a phone thats hardly better than my K700i, and not even a smartphone !
I still check the S700 picture thread though, and look at the quality with envy. 
Bring on the 2mp cameraphones SE !

Not if you increase the pictures gamma level.
