That spec given and in US Sony for the PS3 is old. They have not updated it yet. Coz currently theres only 4 USB ports at the front and a single HDMI output for the 60GB version.
However theres NEWS that the 20GB version will have an upgrade with a HDMI output aswell with a LOWER price. Theres rumors aswell that the 60GB version will come with dual HDMI output as they planned from the beginning. All this yet to be confirm.

It's all been confirmed this morning at the TGS, the 20Gb Playstation 3 will now have a HDMI connection, and a lower price of $430! However, no news of a price cut fo rthe US or European markets... The new pricing puts it on par with an XBOX360 witht the new HD-DVD drive.
I personally feel this is Sony's way of apologising, and if they drop the price of the PS3 on both models here in Europe, then I'll be happier....
Quite impressed they decided to include the HDMI port, now the pure gamers whoi don't want all of the media slots, etc can get full HD gaming!
Cheers

Sony to charge for downloable demos?
by Zhao Jingyu
Sony has been keeping quiet on their online service, and has only revealed more information on it during their Tokyo Game Show conference this morning. According to various sources, Sony will be charging for downloadable demos- each demo will cost JPY100, or roughly USD1.
This information has angered some gamers, especially after Polyphony announced that a segment of the upcoming Gran Turismo game will ship barebones- consumers will have to pay for each car and track that they will use.
At the moment, it is unclear where this information originated, and Sony has not released any official statement to confirm or deny this.

More on price and availability from CNN:
In Japan, it will hit stores on November 11. Sony spokeswoman Nanako Kato said there were no plans to lower prices in other markets.
The game will go on sale in the United States on November 17 at US$499 for a 20 gigabyte hard drive version and at US$599 for the 60 gigabyte version. In Europe, they will be priced at euro499 and euro599 respectively, but they won't go on sale until March, four months later than planned.
Plently more info here.

You're kidding, really!
You've gotta admit though, it's a pretty slick way of defeating 'Software Pirates' as well as tapping into the download market that's threatening to make retail outlets obselete.

How do you think it will stop piracy..Someone buy the segement then upload or whatever hack comes to light...There are always ways of getting around Security...As I can confirm the xbox 360 is able to play burned games D/l ed from the internet....I just dont see people paying and d/l parts of the game..I can see extra content but who knows this is sony...

Isn't most of the piracy generated by selling copied disc's?
Isn't a partial game worth less than a full one?
Won't the piracy turnover drop, making crime pay even less?
Won't the software manufacturers gain ongoing contact with their customers and therefore more control of the market?
I may be wrong but it seems this way to me...

TGS06: Ridge Racer 7 = Too Hot For TGS
Looks like Namco's Ridger Racer 7 is too taxing on the PlayStation 3. We caught this poor floor rep tending to the overheated, bugged out PS3 that shit the bed during the first day of TGS. Yeah, we know this sort of thing happens all the time when you've got unfinished code running on unproven hardware, but we also know that even though you've got a Bravia television and a high end PlayStation 3, your cooling solution is wicked ghetto.
Plus, 1080p and 60 frames per second don't mean squat when you're rendering a blank screen.
We've seen a couple of kiosks and machines go down, but can somewhat safely assume this is just software related and not an issue with the PlayStation 3 machines themselves.
We'll have more gratuitous fatal system errors soon, coupled with frustrated game producers and booth reps. We promise.
