Maybe they plan to announce in late march to be closer to the release.
Also have WF-1000X mark 4 available for pre-order 🎁 ...
Need some help. Tried to use KingRoot to root old phone.
It is not working.
I was following this : https://rootmydevice.com/root-sony-xperia-c-c2305/
But could not reach step 4. It remains stuck on 3.
Like "loading".
10, 20, 50 min go by and nothing to show me "start rooting".

It's seem that sony will announce the Xperia 1 iii in June.!
Unfortunately I was expecting the announcement this month
I have Xperia XZ3 and a lot of previous Xperia phone but right now I'm not sure if I should stay with Xperia Phone.

In 2018, when I send messages to Sony asking for eye AF and bring back white glass, I also told them to let Xperia take over RX100 because market of compacts were already doomed. I told too that should bring jack back because the removal was one of the reason htc is where they are now.

I still wait them to add the other stuff I have requested: S-Cinetone for Cinema Pro, 1" cmos, NFC wireless charging, 4K downsampled from 6K (needs 24MP camera).

Panasonic CM1 had 1" with Leica lens.
Phone as small as Z3 compact.

At least this will make Sony realize more that the compact digital camera market is now in grave threat more than ever. Hopefully, they give all tech now to Xperia considering that.
Honestly, I still feel like they're no near as commited to camera tech compared to the likes of Huawei; They're too conservative.
Anyway, hopefully Xperia 1 iii will have that 1 inch sensor too. |

Honestly.
I wonder how would ppl find inside these phones space enough for 1" sensor.
It is still about 20mm2 larger than Isocell GN2 (1/1.2").
20mm2 is a 1/2.8" sensor.
Larger sensor growns in all 3 axis. |

That's laughable. Kyocera and Sharp may be low end makers but big share of Apple shows that Sony is also failing to establish themselves as a premium brand.
Have you seen the mi11u camera bump? It's humongous. Then they try to keep the thickness down by making it 23-24mm, s20u lens was pretty bad. Even a7s does good with 12mp. Sony would be better off with a 2.4um 12mp with a good lens. |

Honestly, their current financial position has never been this good with Xperia going to get a handful of money at the end of fiscal 2020 
They might be losing market share but that's okay so long as they stop it. With expensive High-end Xperias, it's really as expected that they will lose their previous market share especially considering that Xperia's middle-end phones are non-competitive.
I myself know that the current 10 ii Xperia is offering is sadly only for die-hard Sony fans.  Even Japan probably knows it. Add the fact that also there are other available options in the middle-ends in Japan

Sony did not make efforts enough to sell.
Samsung has tv ads all the time.
Phones are sold at many stores.
A51 was best selling android phone of 2020.
Announced for $500.
Thing is: you make two phone. Put samsung logo on one and sony logo on the other. People may take the samsung branded device.
They do need to put stereo, hdr screen, 4000mAh and decent cam (not imx363) on 10iii.
Also make the Plus version with SD750 and 4700mAh.
Charge €450 and €580. |

I get it but it's their home country. They exited many regions to focus on these areas. If I'm not wrong, they used to tail Apple. Well, I think it's funny how Galaxy beat them in their own home. But anyway.
If you make identical phones and brand them Sony and Galaxy, Galaxy would probably be cheaper with better updates.

10ii - may 5
L4 - april 28
(gsmarena says so)
I think end of March to end of April is the optimum window for announcement, given the schedule is similar. |
