Did you read my post above? Well..i'm pretty sure the BS headset is v a p o r w a r e. . . witch means that the concept was too good to be materialized. Can you read? Good..then look at www.bluetooth.com and "qualified products". The list was last updated yesterday. Can you find bluespoon?? Of course not. Iven if it would appear tomorrow you can expect to wait several weeks before you have it in your hands.

ADAM > No, the lightning didnt hit the computer itself,..lucky I guess !
But I'm still very much offline,..can only get online sometimes,..they're still working on it
--------
People in here just have to remember, that I'm not at Nextlink every day,..my design-job is freelance,..I have a more ordinary job besides Nextlink, hehe.
Therefore I dont always have the latest info,..as I'm not there !
I know BS have been delayed,..basically because of some material-delivery,...guess that we (Nextlink) are encountering the same sort of "starting-problems" as others doing new stuff.
We all want BS out NOW! Nextlink especially ! and they're working very hard to do just that.

ORANG > Well, the lightning didnt hit me, hehe,..it only got to the modem and television
And it actually triggered some electric devices,..they just went on by themself !! A lot of electricity in the air !! really creepy
So theres a reason why I'm "quiet" at the moment,..I simply dont have a choice, as our phonelines are in pretty bad shape

What is the distance that you get with the HBH-30 and how is the sound quality (i.e. crackling, etc)? |

Well I'm still hanging on in there for the Bluespoon, however long it takes. The HBH-30 is all very well, but it's still got nothing on the BS - a totally new and unique product, not a re-vamp of an old idea which makes you look like a wannabe DJ.
Only problem is that I was going to get a 7650, and I've just found out that it doesn't support the BT headset profile. Hate to admit it, but Nokia have really screwed up there. Ah well, just have to stick to the old T68 I suppose... |

Actually there was a review in a Danish mobile phone magasine last month. Not quite consumer maybe but still. They might be tainted by "national pride" though
I have translated som cuts. I probably used some bad English, as it's hard not to make "direct translations".
"Bluespoon is attached to the ear with a small spring. And it fits well - even without irritating the least. Batterytimes set new records too. I has 6 hours of talk, and more than 400 hours standby. The later is so long that is is mostly the batterys self-discharge that limits it
Sound is loud and clear in the headset, and better than the others we tested in the edition [Jabre & Motorola]. But Nextlink do have a lot of experience in this area." ...
"On the other hand the price will be higher than the other producers. Around dkr 2500 [>$300], but the quality is accordingly. The HS seems extremely wellbuilt. You have no doubt that the details have been paid attention to." ...
"Bluespoon is "born" with two buttons. They are used for picking up the phone, pairing the phone, and volume during a call. Just behind the buttons are 2 diodes hidden in the design. A blue on flashes when it is connected to a BT phone, and a red one which lights up to indicate that recharching is needed.
Compared to the competition, Bluespoon is much better at saving power. Whenever it has been used, it switches to a kind of "sleep mode", and uses almost no power." ...
A "Facts box" says "Type: BS HS. Weight: 9g. Talk time: 6h. Standby: ~400h. Voicecontroll: Yes. Price: ~2500kr".
The same "Fact box" for the Jabra/Motorola says: A "Facts box" says "Type: BS HS. Weight: 27g. Talk time: 2,5h. Standby: ~65h. Voicecontroll: Yes. Price: 1500-1800kr".

@Bhaal ditto!!!

OK reviews aside - I guess that I will wait. If it has been used by someone then I guess that it does exist....
Logic - If I have waited so long for something till now what does it matter to wait some more - longing makes the heart grow fonder.
The real question is when. When?

I forgot to say about the review:
It was in the Danish magasine "Mobil", issue number 5, page 37. Which I bought around July 15'th, 2002. Homepage http://www.dk.mobil.nu/
(.nu domains are somewhat popular in Scandinavia, as it means "now").

The Danish reviewers liked it though.
I think the 400+ hour standby time was taken from the manufacturer. The rest seemeds to be tested.
> look at www.bluetooth.com and "qualified products". The list was last updated yesterday. Can you find bluespoon?? Of course not.
I just (Aug 22, 14:00) extracted all products with Headset-HS profile (-HS means in the role of the headset, not the phone, which is -AG for audio gateway). Included only product (not tools, components, software etc.). Sorted by manufacturer, and put the list here., so you can look closer at it.
You will notice that neither Nokia, Motorola nor Jabra has a qualified headset on the list...
The Jabra is actually there in disguise, as I think it is the GN Netcom BT100 HS (GN Netcom owns Jabra), and as Jabra produces the Motorola HS it *might* be covered by that as well.
But I don't think so - the design is a bit different, and so is the label, which I think is enough to warrant at least an entry (you can qualify products as "Private Label" versions of others).
However there is no sign of the Nokia.
There are more than 20 HS on the list though.
And Fujitsu has two very interresting products on this list too, which are not headsets (I think), but can act like headsets anyway...
The hardware component of the BS (The CSR chipset) *is* qualified - but I don't think that is enough.
Anyway, I don't think the list is always inclusive, although I don't know why it isn't. Maybe they ask the SIG to withhold entries for competitive reasons... |

Are you planning to keep it in your ear for 400 hours? |
