thx All..

Manual ISO will work precisely if u use EV=0,0.
if u lowering down the EV, ISO will lower too, based on the last ISO u use.

example : u use ISO 800, then u set EV = -1 or less --> based on lighting condition, with EV -1 or less, may be ISO will down to ISO 640.
if u use ISO 400 before, may be it will down to ISO 320,...etc

i'm not adding ISO 1600 coz with ISO 800 we also can get the same shutter speed, coz i think max shutter speed we can get is 1/6400 s, and we can get this too with ISO 800.
there are too much noise with ISO 1600.

***

some tricks for auto ISO:
with auto ISO, the camera always use lower ISO for the first shot compared to the next shot.
"first shot" --> the pic taken at the first time after u opening the camera.

example: (this depends on lightning condition!)
auto mode: first shot (after u open the camera) use ISO 400, next shot it will use ISO 800.

twilight mode: first shot (after opening the camera) use ISO 400, next shot it will use ISO 500.

sport mode: first shot (after opening the camera) use ISO 800, next shot use ISO 1600.

so, for getting the "first shot", u always need to close and reopening the camera after taking one picture.

@geele76
digital zoom in al SE phone is useless.
if u want to zooming your pic, no need to edit the camdriver. just take photos with 3Mpx, view, then zoom it - more - save.
you get the same result as zooming in camera mode.

@nebraska
i'm not having problem like u when recording video. are u sure that because the camdriver mod..? have u tried with the original camdriver..?

good idea.. I've just replaced it by the original (4.1) and there is the same pbl of delay

And I don"t remember if I bought my phone with this pbl or no...

it's boring I've tested all options to fix it, and no result

The first few pages of this thread should teach a bit on modding the camera.

I have a question to ask. Within camdriver0.dat I see a few lines talking what I suppose it the video recording resolution. I see 176 x 144 YUV VR 22-26fps etc etc. I also see 128 x 96 and 320 x 240. How do I change to these resolutions in the phone itself? Mine seems to be fixed at QCIF.

Also, Nebraska in another thread mentioned that the new camdriver can record at 320x200. If so, how? I get the impression that number1 had stated that this was not possible earlier on.

hi number1
I've just tested your new drv (vers1), quality of videos is still better than beefore (good thing!) but the delay between image&sound is worse!
It is annoying, because pic quality is very good

hey nebraska i had the same problem with the delay. well i update my phone and now i think is fix, i record a music video clip and is seems that is ok now.

hello sonydavid!
Thanks for your help.
do you mean that you changed the firmware to the new R8BB001? (I still have the R7AA024).

It is cool if it fixes the pbl of delay...
Do you remember if this pbl was present when you bought the phone?
