they do come with english language installed. its an APAC/HK/China firmware, one of them...
they may come with chinese keypad. by that i mean tiny little one stroke symbols on numbers 1-6 of the keypad. the number 6 has a ? mark on it for example...

not tried the earphones yet, the sound through the speaker isn't amazing, but it isn't awful.. acceptable is probably the word i would use.
