@ dembala

Just the improvement in speed is enough for me to recommend you do it but don't forget that there are now far fewer crashes/freezes when using the wifi, especially when you try to shut down when it cannot log onto a network for whatever reason. I also don't agree with the suggestion that this firmware is less stable. If anything, I find it has improved.

say "/92", Sweden generic, all major swedish operators test it before they give their OK to SE to add a new firmware for this CDA, etc etc.

When I upgraded to R6E30 I was able to do it in 6 days after WG. I don't understand why we now have to wait for so long. I have "/92", which they say is Sweden generic and I bought mine from an official SE dealer in Cyprus. I don't think the delay is because "operators within a certain CDA-area will do rigorous testing” I think the explanation is more simple: SE don't really know what they are doing.

Friends,

I have the Dutch CDA 162024/54 and would like to update to R9J005 - R6F41. Since I have skipped the previous firmware update and I don't want to accidentally install that one, I need to be sure that R9J005 - R6F41 is available for /54.
The last time it took a couple of weeks before the Dutch version became available. Does anyone of you know if it is available yet?

Thanks! Great Forum!

Hi,
I have a P1i, with the additional chinese language fonts installed on a memory card. After upgrading the firmware, they don't seem to work anymore. Have anyone had the same experience?
The files I'm referring is the ones below. It worked great before. I've doublechecked the card and the files are still there.

Thanks

Thats funny. My stability went up a lot. On the last firmware I had phone restarts, apps that wouldn't even open and every time i tried opening the uninstall application it would crash.

On the latest one I'm rock stable

Guys, I hope this hasn't been answered before but I am having some strange issues with the new firmware:

1. Alarms
If you have an alarm/alert scheduled and you receive any other alert or notification (like, a missed call, a sms, etc.) before the alarm, the alarm will not sound until you clear the notification for the event. Kind of makes the alarm pointless. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what. Basically, the alarm is put on hold until you clear the new notification.

2. SMS alerts
Occasionally, I will not receive any alerts for SMS messages -- no beep, no flashing light. I have to restart the phone and then the alerts show up as normal.

3. Standby plugins
Last night I enabled gmail on the phone, it was able to download messages fine; then I deleted the account because I was just testing the new gmail IMAP service. Today I found that the standby screen still shows gmail as one of the accounts; and a reset fixed this issue.

Any insights?

Hey! It's the first real bug! Awesome. ..What happens, I think, is that the alarm sounds, but it uses the sound settings from the message- notification.

Can anyone test and confirm that? Perhaps also check and see if this only occurs when you're using the standard sound for the alarm?

The type of alarm has no effect on this bug. You can have a custom tone or the builtin one. As long as you have a pending notice, the alarm is mute.

Is the notice mute?

Yes, the notice is mute as well. So you don't know what happned until you take the phone out of standby mode.

I had this scenario:

1. Set an alarm for 7:30
2. Receive SMS at 6:30 (ignore)
3. At 7:30, no alarm; when you go to remove the screen from standby, you will see the window for the ignored SMS, when you dismiss that window, then the alarm will sound and its own window will appear.

Good, that's what happens here as well. I also get a repeat of the message- sound if an alarm goes off while the message- notice screen isn't dismissed.

Could you make a new wiki- page on it? I'll sign off and confirm it later on.

..The first reproducible bug, people (not counting green tint and lazy programming on the menus)!
