if i could do that myself surely i had my answer now.
can not be in any kind of store for another 2 or 3 months..
besides my answer is not much hard. just need a K850 owner to record some seconds of video then see if it is smooth 30fps or choppy 15.(no need to view on a computer... thay can do that as they are writing their posts)
i think that the difference between these 2 is quite visible!!!
thanks again.
@nightblade
i know that i am insisting on this badly. and i appreciate your concern...

I have encountered a bit of a problem this morning.
I transfered some movie files to my m2 stick on my computer, put the m2 in the phone and then entered the media player.
In the media type menu it started indexing the media running the % from 0 to 100 and then the phone went black, vibrated shortly, became unresponsive for about 10 seconds and came back again.
But now the media menu's show there are no files to be shown.
I can access everything through the file manager (and play individual files from there), but the media player keeps saying there are no files.
selecting resume, will continue playing my last mp3's, but with video I get the same black/unresponsive result.
Any idea on how to get the media player back on track? The 4gb card seems fine on my K800. Or do I have a faulty phone that needs replacement? (the going black/unresponsive bit is a bit worrying)
Thanks

First try to turn off your phone for at least 10 seconds and see what happens.
If that doesn't work try to reformat your mem.card.

Thanks... I've tried all the obvious. Removing m2 card, remove battery, off, on, etc...
Will try to format the card next. |

Has anyone had problems with java games and applications?
Every time I try to install java games the whole session ends up with error message "Operation failed". For some reason my phone installs all java games into the folder called Other instead of folder called Games. It seems that my phone doesn't even recognize java applications. Both of my original java games have disappeared as well. Master reboots and secret-menu-tricks don't work so could someone tell if there's any chance to get over this problem without waiting the new update from SE.
Yes I've had the same problem. I've lost all of the games applications and some of the themes.
I think it happened after I transferred a cd using media manager. Then after installing googlemaps when loading it it said Photomate error , which was odd as I can no longer find photomate , and when trying opera mini i get facewarp error.
After master resetting the phone , I've still got the same problem. So I've called O2 who are replacing it.

Yup. And if that doesn't work you might consider a total reset of the phone. |

@mps60
hey be nice man... like i said before this topic is my last attemp because Youtube.com is filtered from where i am using internet right now. and i googled every where!!
@daviep
as i own a W900 and want to upgrade to K850... i just want to know if the video recording of the K850 is the same (real QVGA 30fps).
and smoothness of a 30fps vid rec is exactly what you see on a tv screen.
sorry to make this such long!! |

sory to disturbe again... but.
relating to my earlier post about k850 30fps video recording;
as ricky d said the bitrate is 384Kbps; but with that bit rate it is only possible to record 15fps qvga.(my p990's recording is at 384Kbps too as well as P1 and W960)
after analyzing one of those old video samples on the web and extracting each frame from it... that was alright; it was 30 fps. but the visual appearence was still 15fps. and the reason: each 2 frames in the video are the same (exactly the same; i viewed them in a hex editor)!!! i was shocked !!!
now again; anyone can VISUALLY confirm 30fps.?????? (for example; like the W900's recording)
The video is definitely smoother than the K800 and W800 video quality but I can't tell by just watching exactly how frames per second it is, I can't count that fast! I'd say, yes, it looks 30fps

The best simple answer to that guys burning question I've read, however that funniest and almost equal answer would be the post further up about going to you tube to surf it lol .
Visually the human mind cannot "count" 30fps IF it could actually see those individual frames. Don't believe me?
Test 1: go to the theatre and watch Star Wars Episode 3 ... see how CLEAR it is and smooth. Not satisfied (keep this next one in mind for Test 2); watch Transformers in the theatre, pay special attention to the combat scenes with the autobots/decepticons. Smooth but Transformers you'll miss a few frames.
Test 2: break out your Timex or other digital watch that counts and shows 1/10TH of a second. Yes, just 1/10TH! Now although we all KNOW that each 10TH of a second is counted 1 all the way through to 9 (not 10 - as .9+.1 = 1second, the 1 is carried over) ... I want you to ACTUALLY COUNT the NUMBERS YOU SEE! You won't be able to VISUALLY accutely identify more than 5 numbers ... its just TOO fast. this is just 1/10TH a second! I don't care HOW LARGE the display is its STILL too fast.
(Scientific HINT: The human mind will ALWAYS identify the following digits ....
5 - 4 - 8 (looks like a ZERO anyway) - and finally 2 ! Why? because the way those digits are DRAWN on a DIGITAL display they cover more display real-estate and are visually easier to catch than say 1/7 and not be mistaken for another digit like 8/9/0. )
And the TOOL keeps bugging ppl to VISUALLY identify 30fps. The Theatre trick is actually only 24 fps and the human mind cannot TELL the difference.
So if its SMOOTH and ppl have posted specs ... TRUST THEM!
Now for MY question ...
Anyone OWN a PS3 & a K850i and try to pair their K850i to the PS3 and use it as a mock SIXAXIS controller?!
THIS would be AWESOME! also file transfer or streaming, even BT Browsing the K850i ???!!!!
THanks

my gripes about the k850i:
1. The smearing - phone looks fine in low light, but when using it in the day the whole front and back is smeared beyond belief and looks disgusting.
2. Text message notification - my mobile was sat on my desk at work, a message came in and popped up on the front of the display. THe person standing at my desk was able to read the message. Hardly discreet. Is it possible to stop that happeninG? i want to press a button to read a text, not have it on general display.
3. The keys - had the phone 2 weeks now and still cant get used to the keys. I keep clashing with the cursor square amongst other things and i cant type text at speed.

@Prom1
you make a good point, and it would be sooo cool to use the K850 as a controller with the acelerometer, but until now, the PS3's bluetooth is pretty much locked down, so only some accessories (such as the remote control) and headsets will be visable and pair with the PS3.
but hopefully it'll be pened up a bit more, imagine, you get a text or call, and the game pauses to let you answer, or read you text on screen (if its not too personal, lol)
we can olny wish atm tho

1. The smearing I've solved by carrying around a lens wipe (the one you get with the W800 ) and just wiping it everytime I'm irritated. I wear glasses anyway so it's beneficial for me to carry one.
2. Go to Menu -> Settings -> Toolbar -> New Events -> Pop-up and see if it fixes the problem.
3. The only problem I've had is thta I keep selecting the middle softkey when going to press 'up' on the d-ring.
