The speed problems on the P990i have never seemed like a processor issue to me. I'm pretty sure it's memory. When the system runs out of RAM and starts swapping to the flash card, you're screwed -- like running into molasses, and that's IF the system doesn't crash.
This seems to be much better with the new firmware -- vastly snappier performance with much less swapping to the flash card.
I don't think more processor would be noticeable. Doubling the amount of RAM however -- and how much could that cost? This is what like a $700 phone for f**** sake. |

oops my bad 
but do you think firmware update can perfect p990 performance? i dont think so! even w/latest firmware when i recording video (fine quality. if used norm quality there is no problm) w/4gb msduo card still having heavy delay. oh yeah bte my 4gb produo is genuine, i buy from sony centre. |

Hello all!
Yesterday I got the newest fw! Everything is Perfect, just found 1 strange thing: after instalation of the new fw I try to upgrade 1 time more and Upgrade SW sayed - "There is newer FW, please install it". I did this again, but reseived just same upgrade.
My SW is:
Phone: R9F011
Bluetooth: R5A01
Organizer:R5A17
CDA: R5A13
Do you found the same thing with newest upgrade??

The only video delay i get is on the demo vid.Also i get kern exc sometimes on one wap site.

Hey guys, does the Auto key Lock work on flip closed mode, in this F.W.?
Mine, is just working in Flip Open!
(I didnt update it to that last F.W. , still!)

The jog-dial navigation in opera is fixed, no longer need to scroll to the end of a page before being able to jump from link to link.

One more difference in the new firmware is that in the "task manager" there used to be a bubble against the "end all" option,which we need to check to close all open applications.Now the bubble is gone.The bubbles are there now only for "sort by ...." options. |

"end all" is still there, in the drop down menu... |
