W810 Firmware Details and Bugs |

I just wanted to leave an update on my issue. Wotanserver contacted me within an hour or two afterward with my login, EVERYTHING went smooth from then on. The davinci code theme crap is gone, flash lite themes work, and amr is enabled. Also its now running the generic firmware for AMERICA_1 region.
Sooo yes, wotanserver is a great service, and the w810 is a kickass phone. |

Yes, I have. I think it has something to do with Telia. When I am abroad, in Greece or Spain for example, the signal meter normally hardly moves at all.

hi I'm in Colombia and my SW info is this:
R4CK003
PRGCXC1250316_GENERIC_HN R4CK003
And SEUS says that I have the latest firmware BTW it is with COMCEL (operator) and the only branding that it had was a wallpaper (that I deleted immediately) and a bookmark to the operator's site
How can this be happening???
TIA

The reception could be stronger and weaker time to time, thatswhy the bars are moving. I might be wrong, but maybe the radio apart has a bug or u need a fw upgrade.

Yeah, it seem som. As I said, i have strange signal in my appartment.
I have the latest firmware. But if there was a bug in the radio part, it feels like it should show more regularly?

I guess it is. Outside is never a problem, except for at areas with known bad siglnal. Some guy said that w810i have had a lot of problems with bad radio parts, so that people have had to send them in on the warranty. But if that is the problem then the signal should be unstable when the phone lying still on a spot i think.
Is it common that small areas like 10x10x10 cm can have much lower signal than just outside that area?

I wonder if it is a W810i issue or if it just is that it has very sensitive monitoring of the signal. |

I have a w810i on o2 uk, often when receiving calls from people the phone's screen will go white for a few seconds or just show the background for a while before showing the incoming call alert. The phone will also randomly reboot when i try to make calls

Ok. As far as I know that particular firmware version should (normally) not cause the problems that you describe.
But an upgrade would (probably/hopefully) not hurt. Go for R4DB005.
Good luck!

had r4ce012 on my o2 810i orginally and only suffered from the light flashing
after it had been on for a while (30 to 60 seconds), but no call problems.
Went via wotanserver to r4db005 and light problem gone away and if any-
thing the signal is more stable - usually 4 to 5 bars all the time.
I reject your reality and substitute my own. |

FYI I updated to R4DB005 via SEUS on O2 UK last week. CDA 102494/56 R2A cxc1250324 Europe_2. The OTA (over the air) update reports R4CE012 as being the latest on O2 so you have to update via a PC.
I wish they would sort out the OTA update service as the option is a bit misleading if it always reports whatever firmware you have installed as the latest.
