I got my M600i today, some selected The Phone house stores in Sweden got it in yesterday (friday). I am currently configuring the phone, and besides some unstable software here and there it works really great.
Right now I am a bit confused because I cant find the Microsoft Active Sync-client on the phone, one of the big new things with M600/P990.... I can find a link to download the application on the phone, but ofcourse the url doesnt work. Anyone have any clue?
For some pictures and thoughts about the phone (only in Swedish) go to my page Prylguiden.se @ http://www.prylguiden.se/dep5art1683.aspx
The page will be updated through the comming days.

@KK.. yeah its ok big minus point has been the fact that the promised active sync seems to not be there and thats now a big downer.
@phoric Congrats on the M600 biggest bug so far has been when you in a call and you receive a text message on vibrate the phone sometimes just locks and keeps vibrating.......
Please check you cd for Ericsson Mobile Organizer that should be the application for the active sync... or alternativly DataViz ...you might want to check the memory stick and see if there are any applications there as they might be installed there.

Ahh right, but I mean once the phones officially released, Can't you update the firmware and get everything you need from the SE site, this should fix your problems right?
Just need to know as i'm thinking of getting one early

Well the Phone house is CPW's name in Europe so we might see it soon in the UK |

And the UK is not a part of Europe? |

yes, of course it is, but sometime people in UK use the term "Europe" to mean the mainland continent, which is the case here

@P900lover, when I went to my local CWP in London (Victoria St) the person I spoke to said the M600i, unlike the P990i, appeared to be on their internal (sales?) systems so he said that was a good sign for availability. But on the 'coming soon' web page CPW has listed lots of SE phones except the M600i! |

Got this message on the Ericsson website for the EMO (https://emo.emo1.hc.rome.nmc.ericsson.com/getemoprofessional.html)
"ERICSSON MOBILE ORGANIZER
This site will enable you to activate the (EMO)
Ericsson Mobile Organizer Service, on your SonyEricsson phone
This site open in July 2006 "
I dont think the Microsoft Active Sync client is indeed the EMO-software, I think its supposed to be a totaly separate free client, especially as with it you dont need to install additional software on your Exchange 2003 server. The EMO is both a server and client software, probably for them not using Exchange 2003...
I have emailed my press contact at Sony Ericsson in Sweden (Per Alksten, Product Manger) for some answers regarding Active Sync, hopefully I will be able to share some information with you guys soon.

Correct, the M600 doesnt have EDGE, WiFi nor Camera. The phone is a slimmed down version of the P990.
Regarding the continued investigation into "The Missing Active Sync client" I found this page at www.sonyericsson.com.
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]9_4_1&zone=pp&lm=pp9&prid=4208
Here it says the following under "Exchange Active Sync"
"Have you lost the EAS client you got with your phone? For the latest version of the Exchange ActiveSync client (powered by DataViz) for you M600 or P990 phone, use the links below. "
First of all we didnt get an EAS client with the phone, second there are no links available. Getting a bit frustrated now.. |

Unfortunately that is the price you pay for being an early adopter/ bug reporter as history has shown us. Why any one thought both the M600 and P990 would be released with bug free stable software is beyond me and as certain things i want software wise are not yet available i think I'll hang off an upgrade just yet my P910i does all i need and in 6-9 months time they will be giving these units away with upgrades or a new connection and the software will be far more stable by then. I can't believe i just typed that i must be getting old and sensible oh no.
