If by OZ you mean Australia, then, sorry to tell you, there's plenty of people who already own the Z1

my phone got dropped and stood on last night on a rough concrete floor
was out with a few guys and we were at one of our fav haunts and a few song requests came in so the chap behind the bar threw me over a wire with jack on the end and I plugged it in, it was crossing the entrance to the bar (not very smart) and the girls had to sort of step over it as they went in and out, well of course it was going to happen - not only did my Z1 get very violently pulled to the floor but then she stood on it grinding the screen into rough jagged concrete - when I looked down she was literally standing on my phone with the screen face down grinding it into the floor
well it survived the fall but did not survive the grinding and now has some really bad deep scrapes on the screen that can be felt very easily with a finger - it was so deep I thought the glass was cracked but I think it is just the ASF
Not her fault as I should have moved so the wire wasn't laying across the entrance to the bar - stupid is what stupid does
thinking of removing the ASF as the scratch on the screen is annoying me |

After changing it twice on wife's Xperia Z (some no name, cheap plastic protectors), I got her this (on ebay, of course):

So far it looks amazing. Just an idea....
Cheers,

@geoffxx do it. just put another screen protector on for the next time you drop it on concrete and dance all over it
@vikeviki - i use illumishield and i am very very happy with it. but it's an american product so it will cost a bit of money to ship where you are i'm sure. look around locally for something similar so you're not spending an arm and a leg for a screen protector! What Miki linked is for the Z, not Z1! if you decide to go with that, make sure you get the right one
BTW..
i noticed something with the camera last night while trying to take some low light photos. If the flash is turned off, it does NOT turn on to be used as a focus light. This makes it much more difficult for the camera to auto-focus on whatever subject you're trying to photograph. This is in the stock app. I haven't tried another app yet to see if it's different. I seem to remember my XS using the LED as a focus lamp even when the flash was turned off. i may be wrong.
In any case, i HOPE this can be part of the next update as I think it will greatly improve low light photos. Obviously, for landscapes or something, it's not gonna make a difference. But with portraits and closer photos, it should make a world of difference. As a work around, I turn the flash on and focus, turn the flash off, and take the photo. Of course, this only matters if you plan on taking a low light photo without the flash

^ if you google for illumishield you can link to their main website. they ship internationally, but they charge an extra fee. To Asia it basically doubles the cost (about $30 USD shipped)
there are some sellers on ebay that have it too, but you have to check your country's website for local shipping options. amazon carries it as well, but again, you should check your country's website.

those work ok. in my experience those types of protectors feel very plastically and they tend to change color over time since they will begin to absorb skin oils and also from the temperature of the phone. this is VERY noticeable on white phones and also will change your screen colors if you're sensitive to that.
you'll end up having to change it after a few months if you dislike the color change.
