so when can we expect a NAM version to be available?
usa site shows a calender icon below the x10 when u mouseover it says you can get this phone within 6 months! WTF! it says the same thing under the x2a.. fu
i'm sick of f**kin waiting!
SHIP THE DAMN THING ALREADY!
for f**k sake
i'm about to buy a nexus one and be done with waiting
funny thing is i bet if they'd spent a little less time hyping this phone blowing money editing and producing the x10 movie as they did actually developing the phone and getting it to the market they'd actually make more off of it

I'm really quite upset by this exclusive to Orange in the UK for white X10. I was really hoping to get my hands on one very quickly. I may have to get a white one elsewhere. Kind of sucks really.
I feel bad for you guys who have to wait a number of months or more till you get the X10.
Q: Does anyone know how easy it is to reflash the firmware on the X10? Will DaVinciTeam be giving X10 support? And will the Orange white X10 have 'Orange' written on it anywhere on the casing?

Just installed Android SDK (on eclipse) on my Linux machine + the X10 add on (offered on http://developer.sonyericsson[....]id/developer-tools?cc=gb&lc=en )!
Now I have a emulation of X10 with some Android programs and just created my first Android application
I must say, the developer tools are great and easy to use. The debugging is also great!
Now I can start with implementing some ideas I have for the X10

Just called O2 UK and they told me they plan to release the mini and pro but they don't seem have any information on the X10 itself.
Oh well, it's either the iphone or back to Orange I go! |

I too hope the Orange version has no external branding but now I'm sort of thinking of going for the black and getting the white at a later date.
I'm guessing the white housing will appear eventually on the net - the black one is already available from cnn - but I'm wary about voiding my warranty by changing the housing myself, which looks easy enough to do.

Goldenface, by cnn do you mean these guys?:

£32 seems quite a lot to me when my Orange branded C905 just has a pretty small square where the CPW phone used to just say Cybershot? Not sure how much they would charge for postage? At the mo none of the pics on the Orange site show any branding on either the white or black handsets. To be fair, so much of the surface is important to the use of the phone, I guess they'd have to go for the back where the SE and Xperia branding is. I'd imagine that this could be obscured by any sort of protective case that you chose to use?
So it's probably only the software that you'd be stuck with initially if you did by a Subsidized handset? Cue the howls of derision here as I say thet there isn't really anything about the way the C905 runs that bothers me.. Never having seen it completely pure I guess I couldn't say for sure how much better it could be.. The 1st one was CPW pre-loaded....
Still shouldn't be too long to find out....
Really getting quite excited about this phone, and it's nice to be able to say that...
Quick straw poll, slightly off-topic, how many of you are considering the MW600? I am sorely tempted for the PS3 if nothing else. |

It seems like there has been an eternal wait for this phone - although I can see it getting nearer and nearer.
Will be buying the spare battery in a couple of days although there seems to be some compatible accessories missing such as the desktop stand?
@Trickois
The branding of the NTTDocomo version is on the battery cover, so if the Orange version is the same then that's easily replaced I guess.

@Goldenface, thanks "Battery Cover", thats the term I was groping for when I mentioned the back cover...
RE: the desktop stand, or lack of it, I guess this is because so many of the previous ones did lots ike charging and amplification of Music that they had to incorporate the "Fastport" into the stands.. I guess the way ahead seems to be Micro USB andso a slew of accessories for all of the new SE handsets will incorporate the new connection, hence the wait...Unless that's why there holding off on release.....Just kidding, get this phone out now SE!!!

Well Im hoping it would be bundled but if not - I would definitely get it. I used the radio in my K700, W810 and W960 so this is my only solution - save for an Android radio app. |

That's exactly what I was thinking. A new plain battery cover would be easy to replace, but what about branded firmware/sim locks? Do you know Orange policies on such matters?
